I didn't really enjoy the characters very much -- I didn't play for very long mostly because the grandmother character was just unamusing to a high degree, and the cluelessness of the player character feels out of place for the sake of the player learning about the world -- information that could be revealed much later. The gameplay reminded me of Solar Ash from HeartMachine, but a little choppier. Load zones were very awkward and immersion breaking -- often the player drops down from the sky wherever gameplay loads back in, and the camera with jolt whenever loading into a cutscene. NPCs awkwardly slide around, and the purchasable cosmetics you can unlock are unappealing for character customization, though I do appreciate how early you can unlock it and the number of options. The map feels clunky, and it feels like you can't zoom in close enough to look at anything. The tutorial quest involved me being lost wondering where certain landmarks were, which is likely a skill issue but it certainly consumed half my game time.

Graphics are very charming and appealing, and gliding over the water was very fun. Character design is fantastic. Combat lacked any kind of satisfying "oomf" for me, but mechanically made sense and worked. A lot of gameplay features were similar to Solar Ash, which is one of my favorite games, and I would be excited for that fact if only the game had more polish. The game has a lot of promise, and clearly many people like it, but for me the game just isn't as great as I thought it would be
