It's pretty good, but in standard Larian fashion Act 3 is rough around the edges and finding out about all the cut content can make you a bit sad. Maybe in a few years we'll see a Definitive Edition like we did for their other games.

I don't have an active interest in turn-based games (simply because I am too dumb and have a reactive rather than proactive playstyle, which made even Explorer difficulty challenging) and I tend to bounce off them hard, I've never touched tabletop D&D in my life and CRPGs are also a genre I barely looked into besides Planescape Torment, BG1 and 2 as a kid. Despite that, BG3 managed to grab hold of me and refused to let go for at least 3 full playthroughs. I don't know exactly why but I also enjoyed BG3 a lot more than Divinity Original Sin 2, in which I haven't gotten further than Act 2.

In short, Baldur's Gate 3 is superb and as long as you don't actively hate the genre you will probably come to like it just as I did.
It also made a bunch of AAA devs seethe so that's cool.
