Hello there, dear Steam users.
This time, I'm going to write a lot of ♥♥♥♥ about:
DEAD ISLAND RIPTIDE.

Let's begin!

tl;dr:
standalone expansion to the original dead island, pretty much better in every aspect, but there are still some bugs left unfixed. in all my playtime, i havent encountered a single game breaking bug. so i guess im just lucky.

SRS BSNS version:
Dead Island Riptide, a standalone expansion to the Dead Island series. It continues RIGHT where Dead Island left off, in a chopper above some sea/ocean/idk, didn't pay attention.
Obviously, Dead Island Riptide wouldn't be a Dead Island game without zombies.
So after the first few cutscenes which totally don't really add anything other than a few minutes to try and attract you to the game, you get control of your picked character.

As this is a direct continuation, you can import a character from the older game, but if it's already max levelled, then you gotta start a new one.
Don't fret, because a new character starts already in level 15, presumably to show off that it actually still remembers something from Banoi.

Location? NOT BANOI. (rip mr. cinnamon lifeguard)
It's time for Palanai! There's a eponymous riptide on the islands, causing nearly everything to be flooded.
Because I have a fetish for water in video games, I've enjoyed this setting much, much more, because there was water EVERYWHERE where I wanted to go!
Then you move to a city and ♥♥♥♥ goes down even more.

The zombie roster has been extended and there's some new ♥♥♥♥♥♥ zombies that don't show off any difficulty at all anyway™
The "difficulty" in this game has been increased artificially, compared to the original. Characters are MUCH more damaged by zombies, even a single Walker hit can cause you to lose 3 squares of health.

Medkits have been made a common thing, so yeah.
Inventory has been worked on, and it seems it's better to use or sum ♥♥♥♥.

There's a few more weapons. Nothing really important, other than a staff that wrecks ♥♥♥♥™

And then, we have that Completely Unbalanced New Character™ that is capable of dealing electric damage with his ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fists. And throw ♥♥♥♥ away VERY FAR. John Morgan iirc.

Anyway, let's sum this up:
8/10, could use more work, but definitely an improvement over the older game.
If you liked the original, you will like this.
If you were skeptical about the original and didn't buy it, you MIGHT like this.
If you don't like zombies, or you don't think the series are worth your attention, 1% for you to like this.

have fun

Yes, I realise this game is pretty old to give a review, but I am really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bored while waiting for something to happen in my life.
