As someone who played a lot of Sims 2 back in the day, this game is nothing but another disappointment from EA and a prime example of how they tend to ruin franchises. Too much DLC, which in almost every case is more expensive than the base game itself. And speaking of the base game, it very much feels like it has less content in it than the base game of the Sims 2! And don't even get me started on the microtransactions, that's just disgusting and not even worth the effort of raging over.

The Sims 3 is a great game with lots of content....if you spend the $400 or so on the expansions which do nothing but add content to the game that should have either been released at launch or patched in for free later on. Sims 3 truly sets the bar for how awful microtransactions and DLC can be in a game that could have been great. At this point just wait for the Sims 4 and pray EA has learned from their mistakes....not that that's ever happened before!

The Sims 4 released, the base game is terrible, and they still have too much DLC.

This review aged pretty badly.
