This is like persona 5 except there is no more subtext or nuance, the plot feels like they're just ticking off things that are expected to be in a persona game without an actual understanding of the narrative significance. Joker gets his persona in order to fight against the injustices that he was faced with during the prologue, making his awakening impactful. This games MC has 0 backstory and just randomly gets taken to the metaverse and gets a persona, for no reason other than "well thats just what happens in these games". I'm gonna keep playing to see if the plotline of the first target somehow gets better but the start is genuinely horrible. Nothing is interesting, everything that is good about this game is lifted 1 to 1 from p5. The original music they've made for this game is just noticeably worse and its jarring when a scene has a really good song from p5 only to switch over to a new track that feels like a lower quality recreation of some vague idea of p5's musical style. "Desire Surrender" sounds like a worse "Last Surprise" in a fangame kinda way. Also being a gacha game is an immediate -1 trillion points. Idk why I had hopes for this.
