TANE is the best Trainz yet. I don't understand many of the negative reviews, especially those that complain about DLC. TANE comes with 4 complete routes and the ability to create your own using built-in content and over 400k items available in the Download Center. True there are a lot of payware add-ons available - just like there are for the popular flight sims. I'm not seeing a problem. And there are many great, free full routes available on the Download Center. A few of my favorites:

• Cattarugus Creek & Lake Erie
  
• Gorre & Dapheti
  
• Reading and Norhtern
  
• WM & B&O Mega Route

This is a model railroad simulator, so if you are looking for something "game-ish" this might not be the best choice IMHO. If you are into model railroading like me and don't have room or $$$$ for a layout, this is for you! YOu can create your dream model railroad or model a prototypical route with many miles of track. Check out the many videos on Yotube if you're in doubt.
