UPDATE
-----------------
I now have over 230 hours using VA and am extremely pleased! I'm using it with Elite Dangerous and HCS Voicepacks. I also have a set of custom commands that I use with ED. Being able to link profiles keeps the HCS profile isolated so when there's an update (like there was a couple of days ago), my custom commands aren't overwritten. While the basics of VA are easy to grasp, it is also a deep program that be very powerful.

The only issue I have and I think it is with Windows not VA, is that the mic volume occasionally drops. I "fixed" that by creating a voice command in VA to set the volume to 100%.

Excellent addition to gaming for me.

I wish I had purchased this a long time ago! I tried it out with X4 Foundations and it works very well. It's so much easier to execute commands like dock, target closest enemy, set cruise speed, etc. by voice. And hearing the computer voice acknowledge the commands adds to the immersion.

It's pretty easy to configure but it does take time to map out a game's commands. For the price it is a great piece of software.

I think I fixed the mic volume by changing the setting you mention. It seems to be holding the volume. Thanks!

Hi, Dave. That's certainly a lot of hours working with VA! I'm glad to hear you are able to get a lot of use out of it - the design is to provide the simple stuff up front, but if you want to dig deeper into madness you can certainly do that ;)

In regards to the mic volume dropping out - when does it do that? If it does that at startup of VA (and subsequently the speech engine) it is indicative of the speech engine compensating for however it was trained. If the volume was too high when it was trained, the mic volume will be lowered (conversely, the volume will be raised if the mic volume was too quiet during training). Although VA does work best when the speech engine is trained up properly, there *is* a setting in Options to work as a, 'band aid' - Go to the System/Advanced tab and go down near the bottom to find, 'Prevent speech engine from changing mic volume'.

If the volume is just randomly set, it's possible it could be a third-party app, so, be on the lookout for that.
