why does every perfectly good shooter game invariably take you to a 'jump from tiny little platform to tiny little platform or fall and start all over' level

its asinine does anyone actually enjoy those parts of the levels? well as usual i got to one of those, that was boring and tedious and after a couple tries lost interest in the game entirely

Greetings,

Thank you for taking time to review DOOM Eternal. We are sorry to hear that Doom Eternal did not live up to your expectations due to multiple game aspects you did not enjoy. Below we have addressed some of your concerns regarding platforming and level design.

Platforming:
We feel that the new movement implementation of double jumping and dashing allow for more unique ways to transverse the map and not resort to making all levels feel like a single note, which give life in its multi layered dynamic. This leads to new unique puzzles to discover how to reach your next checkpoint, as well as more places to find collectables that you can use to flaunt items in your ship or to unlock additional game options. This also results in new and unique types of puzzles in the game that will require good understanding of the level and character movement to complete

Level Design:
Unlike Doom 2016, Doom Eternal's levels place a greater emphasis on combat in interstitial areas. The level design stretches outward and pushes the player through various set pieces. Arena combat is still first and foremost, but there is a larger focus on platforming compared to the first game. Players will encounter enemies throughout levels, as in the classic games, rather than only in arenas. Doom Eternal's environments spice up combat by placing enemies outside of arenas, and bring exploration up to snuff through a core set of puzzle mechanics.

We are always trying to improve our players' experience and encourage you submit your ideas to our development team via a feedback ticket at https://beth.games/3OCigNi.

Thank you for your review and we hope you give Doom Eternal another try.

Warm Regards,

The Bethesda Team

Just search up video on how to do it.It honestly not that hard and reason for it is to break pacing from just arena to arena to arena so it doesn't feel like just 1 large constant arena imo.
