Call of Juarez Gunslinger is great, albeit short, FPS narrating the story of Silas Greaves, a cowboy bounty hunter seeking revenge after his brothers were murdered. The game takes place in Western-times and it is basically a shoot-them-all type of FPS, and even though I hate these kind of FPS, there's something about this one that I loved. Perhaps it is the fact that Silas narrates the story as you play and it is so well written it encourages you to play to find out more. I love how he changes parts of the story and you have to play them again from another perspective. There's also something in his character making him very lovable.

You don't get a lot of different guns, but they are more than enough to go thru the story. I particularly loved the rifle and the quickshooter pistol. There's also a sawed-off shotgun, a shotgun, and some other pistols. You can upgrade the guns and your reflexes/combos by gaining EXP, which adds some twist to the shooting portion of the game. You also get dynamite, making it lots of fun to blow bad fellas up. Even though the firing is quite good, there's something about the game that bothers me. It seems that you gotta get the scope spot on or you will miss the shot... if you miss the aim by 1 mm, it'll be a loss, even with the shotgun, which doesn't make sense. There's also something weird about the ironsight in which you have to aim lower than the sight to get headshots. Anyway, you get used to that quickly.

The only thing I really hated about the game is the duels. They are based on crippling the player by making your aim move randomly and you just have to click when the other one pulls out his gun, then aim and shoot, which is really weird and most of the times it seems based on luck rather than skill. This really pissed me off. I hope the find another way to do this in the next game.
Another downside is that the game is really short. I passed it in 8 hours and I didn't rush it at all (I tried to get all nudges of truth in every chapter). Being used to 15+ hour-games, this one felt really, really short, but damn, did I get a good time playing it.

I hardly ever replay games unless something new to the story is brought in, but I am now replaying it in the western (I think) difficulty mode, which removes the hud and crosshair. There's also an arcade mode and a duel mode I haven't tried yet, but the first one looks fun (I think it's based on combos and scores).

I highly recommend this game to anyone that likes FPS with a good story and encouraging characters. You'll definitely have a good time.

L.A. Noire has to be one of the most over-rated games I've ever played. First of all, this game is sold as an open-world game. Well, you don’t get to do anything but going to the locations you need to investigate, so if you can call that open world, then I’d rather play non-open-world games. But this isn’t the main problem with the game, in fact, the game has a lot of problems. One of the most annoying problems is that it is a terrible, unoptimized mod locked at 30 fps. You can bypass this with apps like Widescreen Fixer, but still, the game runs terrible, you can be facing a wall and getting 22 fps or looking at the city and getting 60. They are jumping all the time, making it really annoying to play. Fortunately, this game is more of free-roam point-and-click game rather than the action game they try to sell us here.

Another problem is the linear and extremely repetitive gameplay. You will end up waiting for the clue sound, realizing that you won’t find anything in bodies unless they’ve been strangled, had a ring or a watch, or a document in one of the pockets – so don’t look at the corpses’ hands or heads unless any of this conditions apply. The “distractors” are sometimes so random they don’t even make sense. There’s this mission where a card has been crashed near a sign and this dead woman with a blunt force trauma injury to the head. I found a golf club outside the perimeter, but Phelps said “this doesn’t pertain to the case”; well, why do we need CSI if we have Phelp’s magnificent nose! On another crime scene I remember finding a knife, seriously, a knife!, which of course was “circumstantial”.

Then we have the acting. So many popular actors, and such a terrible acting. Phelps sounds like a cyclothymic freak who has just escaped some mental asylum, dressed as a cop and started questioning everyone. Seriously, he’s mood is so borderline he can go from being the good cope to a maniac in no time. I’m sure this doesn’t have to do with the actors, but with poor scripting and the editors joining the audio with the scenes in a not realistic way.

The interrogation in the game usually makes no sense. Either the suspects make some very obvious lying expressions, or they don’t. And some times, they look like they are obviously lying but you get it wrong. This doesn’t affect your progress except in one case, so who cares? Phelps will be accusing everyone of lying anyway.

Finally, the action scenes… they are pathetic, so say the least. The shooting is so stiff and boring you just can wait with your gun out and shoot everyone with one clip. And the driving/chasing scenarios are god-awful. Usually, the car you are pursuing will accelerate breaking physics laws and making turns so robotically you will end up crashing against a corner most of the times, not to mention than driving is so irritating you will be asking your partner to drive to most locations just to avoid it. There’s also one of the last sections in the game where you have to escort a car and some police cars are trying to take it out, and by just bumping into one of these cars they immediately dismantle – it’s hilarious!. It’s a good thing they added the option of skipping this stupid parts of the game after you fail them twice.

One thing I did like of the game was the face animations… that I will be missing in probably all non-AAA games, but that doesn’t compensate for this mediocre, over-rated piece of crap.

Seriously, avoid this game. Or borrow it from a friend, or even use steam family share. But please, save some bucks and don’t buy it even if it is on sale like I did.

This game is terrible. The idea is quite interesting, but the game is so poor in writing and programming that it is ruined from the start. The kills are probably ok for the most part (although there are some VERY silly ones), but sometimes you have to get items you wouldn't have even remotely considered getting for this kill, it gets ridiculous. The animations are just god awful, they are pretty basic and ruin most of the kills. Finally, the game is poorly optimized so even with a good rig you will get some fps drops, not to mention that on some parts I got stuck (usually in the garden ladders).

Well this game is really really fun. I won it on steamgifts and I though "a stealth sidescroller? yeah, right". Well how wrong I was!. The game has a lot of stealth elements such as hiding in the shadows/plants/ceilings, etc, stealth kills, hiding bodies, breaking lamps, and also some other elements such as finding hidden stuff.
On the contrary, if you don't have a controller the gameplay can be quite difficult, so I recommend getting one if you want to enjoy this game to it's full potential.

Great gameplay, fantastic and twisted story. The shooting can get a bit irritating when enemies take 5 bullets without dying (or heavies getting shot in the face 20 times before they die), but it was a hell lotta fun to play!. The story compensates with its flaws without a doubt.

A poorly optimized game. It won't run properly no matter what rig you have. Terrible gameplay, plagued with bugs (you will find more bugs than zombies, guaranteed) and the main concept is screwed up as the game encourages people to kill each other instead of working together to survive (something that in a real life situation seems more plausible than just everyone killing each other for batteries and soda cans)

A poorly optimized game. It won't run properly no matter what rig you have. Don't waste your money on this, specially if you are after DayZ.

One of the best third person shooters out there. The story gets a bit silly sometimes, but the gameplay is incredible, there's lots of weapons to choose from and many ways to kill the enemies.
I'm also surprised by the multiplayer, and that's the reason I keep this 30gb beast installed even though I'v completed the main game. There's a lot of multiplayer mods, some "survival" modes where you get a partner and you have to survive waves of people trying to kill you, some deathmatch modes (solo and team), etc. You upgrade your gear as you get better in classes and earn money

This is a walking simulator. There's no way around that. I don't know why people call this an "explotarion" game. There's no exploration to be done, the game is as linear as anything can be, so you are not actually exploring but merely walking (very frustatingly slowly) across pieces of land and whatnot.

The story may be ok, but I'd rather see it in a video. The game is extremely boring and all you want to do is finish it fast enough to stop your suffering (which becomes more painful than that of the protagonist). I, unfortunately, couldn't finish the game. I paid a little bit more than a dollar for this and I still feel it's one of the worst spent dollars in my life.

If this game were to have any achievements it would only need one and that one should be unlocked just for installing and running the game (does anyone see the irony in "running" this game?). For those of you that can't run the game because it crashes at start, you are the chosen ones! Seek no more for solutions, for there's some sort of divine intervention wanting you to avoid the pain of playing this "game".

A fantastic open world game similar to the GTA series. I actually like it better than GTA. It's more of a close combat oriented game, with flying kicks and all that stuff, but there are weapons too. Driving is a bit arcade-ish, but it's bearable. The side missions are pretty fun and I encourage you not to follow the main story straight as the game has a lot to offer.
