The idea of being the crisis is interesting, but it feels no different than playing fanatic purifiers or fanatic militarists. You go around and you kill everyone to win the game. I had to go out of my way to avoid a conquest victory just to achieve the crisis victory. There should be different types of player crisis choices like espionage or tech heavy choices.

Most of the espionage options are extremely expensive, take far too much time, and lastly are mediocre in effect. Things like funding rebellions, hacking robotic pops, stealing resources, blackmailing for favors or even sabotaging resources are missing.

This DLC seems to add a lot that really needs to be built on to be worth its price tag. As it stands it is just a pricey story addon, and not a good one like Ancient Relics.

The game makes you wait 20 real time minutes for the major missions. They constantly pop up allowing you to make money or remove heat but 20 minutes per mission and these are the EXACT SAME missions happening in EVERY region over and over again. The game just seems bloated.

Edit: I refunded it at launch and purchased the game+DLC for $3 it was worth it. At $3 I'm not mad at it.

Like is said in most reviews this game is a love letter to SCPs. You contain SCPs (altered items) through brute force and/or puzzles while trying to end an even larger threat. The game is good overall abilities and the effects they have make you feel like a telekinetic engine of destruction as you rip apart floors and walls to slam into your enemies and create shields.

With all the DLC included this is definitely worth buying, especially if you want to see some SCPs in action.

Early Access Review
12/2023 Update

Now that the text is overall translated the game is pretty good. Brawling is bad uncomfortably bad, but it can be completely ignored since I never got much from it. There are still special abilities in context menus that show untranslated text leaving you to guess at what you are choosing. Not enough issues to call it a bad game or vote it down, but problematic enough that anyone should be forewarned.

The game still isn't fully translated, let alone localized. Some text is still fully in Mandarin. Might be worth it once its actually completed as the premise seems intersting

Not a perfect game due to bugs, namely ones that prevent leveling certain traits and throwing knives. Granted the broken skill leveling for Athletics and Cold-blooded I didn't notice until I was 50 hours in, due to them having no effect on my build.

Other than that the game handles well, loads quickly and runs with no framerate drops or graphics issues (for me).

The story was great, and is one of those rare massive games you want to play to completion.

This game is everything the first should have been and more. I've only completed the starter "campaign" and after several hours in the Imperial campaign I have been playing nonstop. The ships are responsive and their weight/class has a distinct feel to issuing orders between them and the factions. The graphics are extremely detailed, and you can even see some of the ships shudder as they fire barrages.

The only complaint I have is that you have to unlock abilities in skirmishes vs the AI the same as you would for pvp play as the leveling is shared with pvp play.

I'm too annoyed with how the hero unit's skills are all on one bar instead of slecting the hero and getting a new hotbar.

I am having a lot of fun with this one the strongest point being the story and setting being interesting and different. The biggest downside is the driving. It is a bit of a pain, everything seems like it takes too long to get around.

It is lacking in tactical options with things like taking the high ground or snipers on adjacent buildings. It is all breach and clear, even when in outdoor maps. You are always outnumbered, with enemies that behave oddly (running back and forth not firing, or charging into the open to focus fire someone). I expected XCOM SWAT, but it is nowhere near that.

The game while fun has too many random crashes to the desktop after you hit a midway point in the game. Playing a game like this and killing a boss on the first attempt feels great, until a random crash occurs and you lose all your progress since the last save. Since there is no autosave it makes progressing a pain at times. I want to enjoy it and finish it but I am too frustrated.
