Let me start this off by saying this is the first Halo game I have ever played and I have had loads of experience with other shooters. Even though a persons aim might transfer the gameplay is very different. It is definitely a good different though. It is a lot of fun to play with friends and most of the gunplay is good. (As long as you have the right guns) The only issue I have with the game is the melee is broken. Like exceptionally busted. The fact that in close quarters it is smarter to just melee twice instead of using a gun does not make close quarters combat fun to me. Long range can get stale because an opponent who gets their shields broken just runs behind cover until they get it back. Other than these two things the game is amazing and the fact that is free it just awesome. I just avoid fights that I mentioned above now because I think they are dumb. Especially the melee. Half the time it doesn't even register.
