Really fun demo, I love the atmosphere and the gameplay feels really nice now it's clicked (which was during the secret boss). I really enjoy the adrenaline and healing off damage dealt mechanics, nice blend that rewards playing aggressive which is very satisfying.

My main sticking points were the stamina bar felt way too low for the weapons in the demo (I was able to level up to mitigate this but by that point I'd finished the demo pretty much) and that I found it rather hard to tell where the openings between combos were on the champion bossfight, but again the combat hadn't clicked for me by this point so it could be a skill issue on my part.

Overall had a great time with this, excited to see where the game goes!!

My new favourite rhythm game! Super unique and interesting gameplay with very clever map design and AMAZING music. Story is fun, minigames are cute and user-made charts give it a lot of longevity.

The new official tracks have also all been excellent, both free and the paid DLC ones.

Overall an absolute gem, highly recommended to any rhythm game fans.

I've been really really enjoying my time with Darkest Dungeon II, perhaps even more so than I did the first game (which I do still love).

The combat is really nicely refined and feels great, with so much more depth than DD1, the hero paths are an excellent addition that really help with this even if I couple of them are a bit barebones (some of the Leper paths in particular). The tokens are a nice change, makes things be a bit clearer which helps you plan out turns more reliably though of course there's still some RNG.

The art direction of the game is one of the highlights for me, I wasn't sure initially about the more detailed 3d look of the game but it's really grown on me and it still absolutely feels like Darkest Dungeon. The enemies and heroes all look fantastic, the environments are gorgeous - when paired with the incredible soundtrack and of course the iconic narration it all makes for a game that's stunning and dripping with atmosphere.

The game is rather slow paced, which for me works nicely with the tone and vibe but I can absolutely understand this turning some people off of the game. Also much like the first game, it's definitely punishing, some enemies feel a little overtuned, and it can be frustrating, but these are all factors that I strongly attribute to Darkest Dungeon so I enjoy that personally - just worth being aware of starting out. Speaking of which, it's pretty overwhelming at the start, the barrage of panels explaining mechanics definitely feels like it could be done better somehow but it gets much easier to know what's going on as you play more.

So far the new gamemode Kingdoms has been a treat to play though, just finished module 2 out of the planned 3 and it feels really well designed. It's a nice mix of macro and micro planning between distributing heroes/materials between inns and managing your party directly. It's especially fun to have to adapt and teambuild on the fly as heroes die or need to recover, especially with how much depth they have now - I've found plenty of fun new synergies in this way that I'm excited to go back and try in the main gamemode. The quests to progress through the modules are pretty fun and very thematic, remains to be seen how fun they are to replay however. Overall it's an excellent addition to the game that's a nice change of pace from the roguelike main Confessions mode. Very excited for the third campaign!

On the whole, don't go in expecting DD1 again - DD2 is very much its own game that builds nicely on the first and still absolutely feels like Darkest Dungeon while being distinct enough that there's value to playing each. Highly recommended <3

If you have even the SLIGHTEST interest in this, don't look into it too much, just play it. Piecing things together is brilliant so the less you know going in the better.

This game is a work of art, such strong concepts, moments, visuals, gameplay, just incredible.
Go play it!! One of the best games I've ever played :o

Feels like an incredible next step from the souls series, in a varied and beautiful world that's a joy to explore! Replay value is better than ever, many playstyles and builds to try!

Now port Bloodborne to PC please :P

Incredibly fast, fluid and fun gameplay - essentially refined and faster DOOM 2016. Recommended.

Note: I recommend playing on a higher difficulty; you've got to play FAST to survive, but it's so satisfying.
