Stay away from this game until it is on sale in a few months. It is extremely unpolished, buggy and crash-prone. The latest update has done nothing but make the game more unstable. It is an unoptimized, stuttery mess and joining a game is a dice roll to decide if you're actually going to connect, let alone not crash in the middle of a mission.

Edit: It's now been a month since release, the server capacity has been increased, but random disconnections are still common and parts of the game dependant on the network have been disabled by the dev team, who introduces new bugs with every patch while being confrontational, dismissive and downright aggressive towards players who dislike the direction the game is going. As admited by the devs themselves, the so-advertised community-driven campaign is railroaded by a single person with no qualms with resetting progress if it happens 'too fast', very unlike the first game.

In short, wait for a BIG sale. At least 50% off.

Pretty unique twist on the genre. A good mish mash of different game mechanics that doesn't need to fall back on deckbuilding or roguelike elements.

Awful perfomance causes the game to have FPS drops in the best cases and to randomly freeze at some points, making it extremely annoying to play right now. Add that to rampant connection issues both as a host and as a phantom and game breaking glitches that can softlock you at certain boss phases, forcing you to abandon your runes or die to escape. From is a high profile game developer with several best-selling games under their belt, not some poor indie company. The state of this game's launch is inexcusable and now I can only hope the game isn't abandoned post-release and all the complaints aren't drowned by people who think no one is owed a functioning game.

As fun as it is, optimisation isnt the dev's priority and it seems like its slowly getting worse. Loading screens that last minutes, constant freezes and 10 minutes of waiting for matches on peak hours to compliment it all. They didn't make it free to play mid early access for nothing.
