I want to like this game. It's highly stylized, and I love turn-based RPGs. This turned out to be a mediocre example of the genre, though.

There are numerous problems with the game I have that other people probably love. Here's my issues with it:
-Characters going insane happens way too fast (enemies in the first area can raise it by 20 party-wide), making the game even more luck based than it already is.
-The squishy characters die so quickly. If the enemies want your squishy dead, it's dead. The bots aren't stupid and won't attack your frontliner unless they have to. I would applaud this A.I. if it didn't devolve the game into a tank meta.
-It's slow and boring. With a game like Fire Emblem (Let's be real, it's the best comparison), it tries to keep you involved. With Darkest Dungeon, you select your most powerful move on every guy and click the enemy a bunch. It stays selected for you so all you do is spam the enemy. Granted, it didn't bother me when I started but around the two hour mark I felt so uninvolved I decided to get a refund.

tl;dr It's like Fire Emblem with less variety, less involvement, and less fun.

Hunger Dungeon is a new game that does some things very right and some things very wrong.

The way the game plays is a simple battling system where you buy a few spells and weapons and then fight it out. I wouldn't say it's a MOBA. I'd put it somewhere under a beat em up or a fighting game more than a MOBA. You go through about 4 rounds of map, earning gold and raising your hunger meter, which will kill you if it depletes. On the last map, you need energy shards to attempt to power the exit. Only one person can escape and they will die to stop you. I like this system. It makes the ending very stressful when you the few remaining people team up to stop someone with four shards.

The developers have put in a system in which you only have access to four characters per week, with no way to unlock except for money. It's a poorly implemented way to make a f2p game give the developers money, and a little more work could've made them much more while not feeling like a scam.

The game balance is not all that great, and certain characters are too slow to accomplish anything with no redeeming qualities, or low damage with a chargable hit which makes him do the normal damage of every other character. There are also spells, and they equal the playing field quite a bit. I usually buy the item which increases Spell Damage by 40% and some spells every game.

In summary, if you like a good time with friends or a relaxing fighter without too much depth or thought, Hunger Dungeon is for you.

There was certainly a time where I wouldn't have recommended this game. I then realized the hidden depth this game really has.

You start unarmed, and can switch between these and two other weapons with a powerup in the arena. Switching between these quickly helps diverisify the game much more than a normal smash game. The balance is very hit-or-miss, and it suffers a little from MOBA syndrome, where the new character is always a little too good, but that is quickly changed.

All-in-all, this is a great game, and I recommend anyone download it.

Edit: Scythes suck.

Don't buy this game unless you only wish to get to rank 15.

Riddled with bugs and glitches, I can't like this game, Playing with friends doesn't work, if you look in LAN you must restart to find any servers, and if you think I'm a special case, I'm not.

This has become one of my favorite games of all time. Every character has (somewhat) the same combos, but have (mostly) different magic. With four different stats to level, you can choose whether to stick to the strength (for sword combos), magic (for the special uses of each character), defense (Raises HP and Def), and agility, for speed and archery.

No, seriously. This game is worth every penny it costs.
