As of Christmas 2021, I do not recommend this game quite yet.

THE MULTIPLAYER: At least not the multiplayer, I don't recommend it. If you're coming to this because "Ooh, look, pretty Spartans!" then you should turn away and play Destiny now. Because even Free to Play Destiny 2 has more default customisation than this game. Microsoft has inserted their greed into 343i's vision so much by making the game Free to Play as an excuse for their insulting bundle prices. It is very consumer predatory. If you want to look ANY different from other Spartans on the battlefield, you'll have to pay some cash, usually 13+ CAD for basic stuff. This customisation can be excused if there is solid gameplay, no?

You're right, the gameplay is very solid, it's fun to play, a very good skeleton framework for what Halo Infinite Multiplayer should be. But there is such a lack of content, true content, not customisation, that it gets boring after a week of playing. You only have a rotation of like, 6 maps, a handful of the playlists out of the original plethora of game types from past games. And if you're about to ask what Infinite brings to the table that no other game has done before? Nothing from a gameplay perspective. Halo Reach had the very cool Big Team Battle offshoot, Halo 3 ODST had Firefight, Halo 4 had Spartan Ops, and Halo 5 had Warzone. Infinite has nothing new, just a limited choice of basic game modes. Even after this is technically "released" it still seems like it was when I played both Flights.

Until there is more content, I wouldn't put much cash into this game, I have only bought the battlepass because I wanted to make my Halo Reach spartan, and luckily my armor is in the Pass. But lord have mercy on you if you don't have your armor in the pass, because chances are it's locked to the store for probably a 20 dollar bundle full of useless crap you won't use otherwise. This is going back to the customisation as the main issue, but there still is a lack of content gameplay wise. Still a very fun game to play, and for free it's not too bad if you wanna just hang out with the homies and play some Slayer. It's just not a proper NEW Halo, it seems to me more like "Hey, we at 343i want to give the community a better Multiplayer Experience than what we had before with Halo 4 and 5. So here's something to tie you over while we work on the REAL next experience."

I really want to recommend this game, I do, it's HALO ffs. But as of RIGHT NOW, it's not something I can recommend spending money on.
