This is a hard one to review. On one hand, this is probably the very best Serious Sam has ever been from a gameplay perspective. On the other hand, it is the absolute worst its ever been from a performance perspective. The performance does not even seem to use all of GPU processing available and is extremely CPU based. I respect the commitment to creating an entirely new from scratch engine instead of just using Unreal like everyone else, but it seems they bit off more than they can chew.

If you're struggling with performance, I made a guide "how to fix stuttering" with some options that may help, but there are no guarantees. If you do end up playing the game, I would highly recommend also playing New Game +. The campaign is only around 7 hours, but the new game plus essentially remakes the entire campaign with all new enemy spawns where Sam starts off with all weapons and the early and mid levels have massive enemy counts that are not found in the first playthrough. Way more fun, but you probably shouldn't increase the difficulty as the massively increased enemy counts will increase the difficulty itself without having to change anything.

P.s. If you don't unlock dual wielding first, you're playing the game wrong.
