I don't really get all the hate. I paid 8 dollars for this and i got 20 hours of killing hundreds of zombies at once which was pretty rad. Probs not worth 60 dollars but on sale it was super fun.

I can understand if you want to play a game where you can take your time killing hundreds of zombies, but you have to understand that giving the player the breathing room to f**k around for hours with no consequences goes against the spirit of the original game, where the pacing was defined by the presence of the timer; The timer existed not to add difficulty, but to help define the experience. This game ends up playing very differently because of the missing timer, and fans don't like that, hence the hate.

(Split in two to get past the character limit)

I'd like to bring up Pathologic, a game that is arguably difficult on its own right (Pathologic 2 is definitely difficult, though) and has a timer running at all times (other than dialogue) to force the player to manage their time and consider what they are doing at all times. This is a mechanic added not to enhance difficulty, but to define the gameplay -- it is a game that forces the player to consider their actions and act swiftly and efficiently. The same could be said for Frank West's first encounter with the zombies: He had to get a move on. There was definitely some zombie killing fun to be had, but the player always had to work towards a goal to make sure they beat the game in time, and this defined the gameplay.

If you want something challenging go play doom eternal or dark souls. A time limit is just a flat out bad mechanic. If you want to make a game hard do it through skill based gameplay not an arbitrary time limit.

I guess the only people who like Dead Rising 4 are people that suck at video games.

I have tried 2 and it wasn't for me. The bizarre quest timings really took me out of the experience. It always made me feel like i was late for some unnamed thing so I couldn't relax and just get to the zombie killing.

You don't get the hate? Maybe because the game completely under minds the fun and challenge of the first 2 games. Search dead rising 4 crowbcat on youtube and you might understand, or just play the first 2 games, they were actually good and not produced by some hipster dev team that had nothing to do with the original games.
