I'm going to be honest with you: I never liked playing this game until the wastelanders expansion. I, for one, can look past most of the bugs (the non-gamebreaking ones) and keep on going, but the lack of NPCs made the game feel very, very empty. When wastelanders came out, I revisited the game and I can say that it's improved substantially. There's less bugs (and also new ones) and the game's quests are way more fun because they actually involve interacting with NPCs instead of listening to holotape recordings. Altough there are no companion NPCs yet, which is a bummer, there are quests where certain NPCs follow you and help you fight mobs, which leads me to beleive that companions will be in the game soon.
Overall, I would recommend this game, seeing as Bethesda finally woke up and started unleashing it's previously untapped potential, leading me to beleive that the next updates to come will make the game even more fun.
