Think carefully before taking the word of bad reviews. A lot of kids buy this game to play with the cutesy animals without realising that first and foremost, this is a building game. They struggle with creativity, imagination, problem solving and can't even put blocks together in Tetris. Then they write a bad review because they've spat the dummy. Do yourself a favour and check out the top-rated items in the Workshop to see what can be built if you're beyond the IQ of a 10-year-old. Also watch tutorials and zoo showcases on YouTube.

I will say this though; the engine is horrid. It runs on DX11, so any "grand" ideas you have will bog the game down to potato level. It doesn't matter how good your PC is. This will never improve for the life of the game and there's still a number of bugs to tolerate as well. It's a shame because the concept is great, just executed so poorly. Furthermore, DLC's are getting weaker as Frontier seems to only listen to little kids by focusing way too much on creating reskinned animals (basically like pretty clothes for Lara Croft) instead of actual game-play dynamics. Prehistoric Kingdom is going to destroy this game. Such a waste.

Oh, and the community has an average IQ of 10 and are as toxic as hell. The forum is riddled with 10-year-olds and a handful of creepy old men.
