It is a very interesting Point & Click that has some mechanics very unique to the genre. You don't have an inventory, for one. But what you do have is a staff you can do musical spells, called drafts, with.

I love the mechanic of doing a draft backwards does the opposite effect of the draft. Like the draft "Open" done backwards closes things. It's a very cool mechanic.

Funnily the only problem I have with a game that revolves around magical music is that there is no music outside of cutscenes. Weird. It feels kinda hollow without it. I guess you can just hit up some other soundtracks on YT or something, but still. Why is there so little amount of music in this.

The port is also a tad buggy. Some voicelines cut off earlier than they're supposed to, the alt-enter full-screen bugs out with alt-tabbing and I've heard of some other problems I haven't encountered yet.

Other than those two, the game's really interesting and good. Even if the world is a bit confusing at start. You'll get up to speed quickly!

Thus I [d e c e] the review

It's pretty fun, looks and sounds like an authentic 8-bit game but it's pretty damn easy. But for the price I'd still recommend for any fans of the good ol' NES

A great game that added some extra mechanics and polished from Shadow of Chernobyl, with the biggest new addition being the Faction system, that sounds great on paper, allowing you to join almost any of the big stalker factions: Duty, Freedom, Loners or Bandits
Though the reason this is still the worst, while still good, STALKER game is that it's so buggy, especially the faction wars. It's more likely you'll get softlocked on the faction war mechanic than that you'll get through it, so you most likely shouldn't even invest in it. Just join a faction you like so you can use their base as your hub for trading and upgrading gear

But, the ultimate reason where this game falls off from the others is one simple little round thing: Grenades
Every human enemy carries grenades, they don't feel like saving them for later, and they throw them at you with pinpoint accuracy even if you were behind good cover, and you will die after less than a second from the indicator popping up. I've died more to grenades in this game in one playthrough than I die in most games at all. ♥♥♥♥ it, I've probably died to more grenades in just one hour than I die in most games at all through an entire playthrough

And the ending in this game is just unbelievably unfair, throwing enemies at you left and right in big bunches, if they don't shoot you down in seconds they'll throw grenades at you. It just becomes ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with quicksaves and hoping you didn't save a second before exploding

This is truly the one game where the Vintorez will NOT carry you through your problems, because it can't protect you from grenades that are thrown by people who have 1 000 hours in Worms

I'd still recommend it but only if you really want to play all STALKER games

This is the only game I've ever played where I truly feel like the RNG is against the player. I lose easily well over 3 / 4th of all dicerolls even if I had 10 / 12 chance to win them every single time. Nobody can make me believe that it's just bad luck anymore. A few runs I didn't literally win a single dice roll. Again, even if I had like 9 / 12 chance to win at minimum

My favorite aspect of this game is that you still get EXP even if you quit early. I have no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clue how everyone is even able to think that you don't. Steam review community is probably the dumbest bit of internet I know

The game is really fun and it's a fairly 'good' game by whatever standards I can think of. It's not amazing or perfect by any means, but I'd personally give it a solid 8/10. Might be a bit biased as a fan of the franchise though.

My biggest problem with this game are the other Jason players. Most of the time they seem to just hit the instakills instantly. Why kill for the sake of winning. Why not make it fun for yourself. I bet these are the guys who lie about the EXP.

I'm probably going to get downrated to hell because it's the cool thing to do to hate this game now and lie about many aspects of it while being dumb as a retarded rock. I'm not telling you guys to like the game, I'm telling you guys to actually have points that exist for hating it.

It's a great movie really. Maybe not by normal standards but it's just cheesy and 'bad' enough for AVGN. If you like the show you should enjoy the movie a lot. I don't get the hate at all. There's nothing more you could ask from an AVGN Movie

While the combat in this is pretty bad as you mostly only have one or two party members, ultimately making you having to spam selfheal and doing a heavy hitting attack whenever the enemy gives an opening by doing a debuff move, it's still fantastic for finishing the story. The soundtrack is also much, much better in my opinion. And that's saying a lot as LISA The Painful already had one of my favorite OSTs

LISA The Painful made me cry internally.
LISA the Joyful made me cry externally.

LISA is now among my all time favorite games

First time I see a game that can be funny, depressing and disturbing at the same time and make it work.
The combat and the soundtrack are truly unique and fantastic, with being able to do different combos and all that. Nerf Gasoline Spit though.
The story is just fantastic and interesting to see how it all turns out. It's all fairly logical in the end and doesn't really pull ♥♥♥♥ outta it's own ass at any point.

Except with that one joke with the orphans, but that was just a short joke

Made my depression worse and I don't regret it at all.

*Cries internally*
