Feels like I've been waiting for this game forever and it was worth the wait.

The game offers multiple endings and plenty of interesting characters to meet (I believe all characters are randomized so you never know who will be visitors, encouraging multiple playthroughs.)

The soundtrack and art style is great, it truly captures an analogue horror feeling that I don't see many other games capture in such an authentic fashion.

Would recommend for fans of analogue horror and games like Papers Please.

Surprisingly fun spin-off that I didn't expect much from, it's not that bad playing with randoms despite what the internet has been claiming (in my experience), however with friends it's definitely a lot more enjoyable.

A funny little ImSim that doesn't take itself too seriously like most other games in the genre, it didn't entirely blow me away but was still a good time start to finish!

Is this game getting praised a little too much and potentially overselling it to people? Maybe.. Probably?

Regardless of that, I absolutely loved every second of it.

What is a crispy critter and why does the main character say it so much?

A small price for a short game but totally worth it, really well made.

For fans of Soulslike and/or King's Field-like games.

It took me three separate attempts to finally fall into the groove that this game dances to but once you do it's hard to put down, it is an undoubtedly flawed game in many aspects but the love and attention put into it make the positives far outweigh the negatives, in my opinion.

One common area of criticism is the combat, admittedly yes it's pretty weird and clunky but once you put the time in to learn the system (and organically level up your character in game as you learn the combat system) I find that you become thoroughly immersed in the combat and as an extension, the game world itself.

The game is heavy on the immersive aspect which is another area I've seen criticized by some people as it can make the game feel laborious.

Everything from opening doors to picking flowers and going to bed all have unique animations that make small tasks feel tiresome but equally it does a good job of making the player truly feel part of the world, the developers were clearly aiming for an immersive game and it works well, I believe. For a game with a similar design choice see Red Dead Redemption 2.

Ultimately I would highly recommend this game to those who enjoy lore rich games set within a gorgeous world that is filled with immersive elements and a methodical combat system. If you're looking for a medieval coming of age story look no further than this game.
