This game is a masterpiece and testament of how to do a proper reboot. It gets everything what Doom is about right but in a modern title. And don’t get me started on the sound design, all the clicks and clacks and the music by Mick Gordon. Beautiful.

Early Access Review
This game makes no sense. It doesn’t explain what to do and the one sentence story is vague at best. The gameplay is horrible, you have no idea what to do or what’s happening. One moment you kill a knight to save some people and then you teleport to somwhere as something else and have to kill people without getting killed by robots(?) Also, the whole game is permadeath for some reason.

Graphics wise it looks like it was done in Paint, and you no-clip though everything. Sound wise it’s fine, I guess. Just sounds like a bunch of generic beeps and boops.

This is clearly baby’s first game and should not be sold for money.

Cute little game but it is an obvious and horrible port from mobile. There isn’t that much content either, there are only two maps and one of them requires you to register to some weird service. The gameplay is simple and only holds for about one match before becoming a little too simple and boring. Having only one map available isn’t helping in that regard.

It is a fun game but feels a little quiet, empty and dry compared to BL2. There are also a lot of bugs but they are only minor annoyances. If you liked BL2 and really want to suck some extra to get some bone marrow, this game is for you. I would recommend playing it in co-op.

Though If you play co-op you need to go to "C:\Users\<your-name>\Documents\My Games\Borderlands Game of the Year\WillowGame\Config\WillowEngine.ini", change "bHasVoiceEnabled" to "false" and then right-click->properties->read-only, otherwise you will get ridiculous lag. Everybody in the lobby has to do this.

A really good, fun and addictive game that is best experienced through co-op with equally interested friends. It is quite long, lasting almost 100 hours for a full playthrough including all DLC and side missions, but those are hours well spend. The characters are interesting (though the ones you can actually play are basically mute) and the villain is fantastic and really adds to the game’s humor. I guess you can compare him to Glados from Portal or what’s his name from Far Cry. The story is simple but enjoyable and perfect for a co-op game, the graphics hold up really well thanks to its art style and the audio is good. The gameplay feels really nice and you can never find the perfect gun as you constantly find better replacements and never hold the same inventory for long. This is nice because you always have something to work towards and it keeps chests exiting.

The difficulty stays relatively the same throughout but once I got to the DLC it got a little too easy and you stop getting XP and new interesting loot thanks to enemies capping at level 30 or something. They are still enjoyable though and it is nice to not have to grind enemies to get to the appropriate level. The same thing goes for the new game + (vault hunter mode) which we just rushed through to get to new game ++ (ultimate vault hunter mode) which scales the enemies to your level. The side-bosses (raid bosses) are ridiculous at this point in the game though and are basically only beatable by cheesing it with glitches and tricks learned from guides.

I highly recommend getting this game and if you do, get the one that includes all DLC as they are really good. Especially the D&D one.

A beautiful yet frightening representation of mental illness with a great story and a fantastic experience overall.

The graphics were stunning, though the textures were not super highres (but who cares tbh) and the motion blur had to be forcefully turned off through changing a config file to avoid puking. The audio, including the voice actors and binaural sound was amazing to listen to and the story was clear enough and deep. The world was wrapped in a well-crafted theme of Vikings and Norse-mythology (with some explanations and history for once) and of course the symptoms of mental illness. I also loved how they introduced her past by means of the story’s progression instead of overwhelming you at the beginning. The gameplay was nice with a combat system that felt satisfying with more techniques than I initially thought, though being able to switch targets would have been useful. The puzzles, while a tat repetitive (for a good reason), felt good and were easy enough to keep going, though I did get stuck once, but that was just me being blind or something.

This game has a lives system, if you die enough your progress is erased. This didn’t end up happening to me as I only died maybe five times but I can imagine it being frustrating if you end up having to restart. This does give some real weight and fear to death though, as it is definitely something you want to avoid. It hurts to die and see the rot climb up her arm while not knowing how far up it can go.

I loved playing through this and can highly recommend it. Can’t wait for the sequel :)

Fantastic game. I have so many fond memories playing this game with my friends (many before I owned it on Steam. I bought it in like 2008 or something). One of them being the time we got defeated by the AI enemies but managed to get our leaders on a small boat that we took to the tiniest island to hide. There we build 3 bases even though there really wasn't enough space for it. It required a lot of figuring out how to place things and killing stuck settlers. We managed to protect it with boats for long enough that we could regain our strength and eventually destroy all their bases. That match took ca 5 hours and was a lot of fun.

Quick tip though. Fiddle around in the UI and video settings to make the UI less disgusting and allow you to zoom out so you can see more than a single settler house at a time. This game has definitely aged a bit and the AI is not the greatest.

Fantastic little game. It's cute, feels nice to play, sounds great with good soundtracks, good controls and a difficulty that keeps you interested (that is: not too hard, not too easy. Some later challenges are pretty damn hard though).
Ps. My old laptop couldn't deal with the background effect on the last level though haha.

The multiplayer really isn't worth anything. It looks like it was made somewhere between WaW and MW2 (visual/audio/gunplay) and the servers are poorly populated. The Zombie mode is where it's at. It is way more story driven and way longer with objectives and hard to find tricks (side-objectives that you have to figure out yourself) compared to the normal zombie mode from the other games. It looks, sounds and plays really well and it is a refreshing take on Treyarch's formula (it is made by Raven). I haven't played the SP yet, though I've heard it isn't that good so this game is really only worth getting for the one zombie map you will get. I spend like 35 or so hours in it so if you can get it for a few single-digit bucks it might be worth it! Too bad the DLC with more zombie maps are so expensive though.
