TL;DR at the bottom.
Usually I don't much care for Sega's 4X games, but Endless Space, and the Endless series in general, are very well done. Endless Space 2 is a very unique take on the 4X genre. Most of the 4X games that are out there are usually based on some sort of historical context, like Civilization, and Total War. This is what helps Endles Space, and the endless series, stand out among the others as it is based on its own lore. Every factrion in it has its own series of quest to complete that help give this game a rich, vibrant, and fun experience that you can finish in many different ways.

The nuts and bolts
As for the more technical aspects of the game, it still shines, but is unfortunaltly outshined by games that are even made by the same publisher, Sega. While it does have high replay value, it does get somewhat repetative after awhile and does somewhat fell like Sega is forcing you to buy DLC to continue the adventure. Ther learning curve of the game is not very steep, and is not only easy for new players to the 4X genre pick up, but it is also challengeing enough to keep veteren 4X players interested. Each faction has its own playstyle that vary dramatically from one another, which helps keep the game fresh, as it encurages you to try playing the game a different way each time you start a new game. However there are only6 factions (5 without DLC) to chose from, which is a shame because this series is known for haveing many faction all with different quests, lore, and gamplay styles. Sega may however add more to the game as DLC, as the game is pretty consitantly pathced.

Graphics
Graphically speaking the game is so-so. The artwork that appears in the game is very pleasing to the eye, and the aestetic of the game is very pleaseing to just about any si-fi fan. However the ground battle sequences are nothing more than a fake looking hologram, and anything that is not zoomed in looks a little too simplistic. This is campared to its sister series Endless Legend, which has vibrant colors, and complex textures and animations. Overall the game gets the job done with the graphics, but don't expect too much more.

TL;DR
Positives
+High replay value
+Fair learning curve
+Unique lore
+just one more turn-able

Negative[/b]
-Not very impressive graphically
-Could use a bit more content
-can get somewhat repetative

Overall, Endless Space is a very fun take on the 4X genre and even though its not the best looking one around, its still wort a play through, or two.
