Really proves that gameplay is more important than graphics. For example:

The first thing I did in the game was walk into some random house. The owner objected and shot me, so I decapitated him with a shovel. I ran down the street and pissed in someone's face until they threw up, and got an achievement for that called R. Kelly's Protege.

11/10 game. If you're on the fence, just buy the thing already

Word of advice: don't look at the achievements ahead of time, it's less fun. Just do random crazy ♥♥♥♥ and laugh out loud when you get an achievement for it

Button masher with no real gameplay. Even ignoring all the pay-to-win stuff, the gameplay loop itself is just mind-numbingly boring. You walk forwards, upgrade stuff, then walk forwards more. It's just not fun.

take a low-poly first person shooter and impregnate it with Minecraft, and you'll probably get something along the lines of Deep Rock Galactic. Fantastic game made so much better by devs who really actually care about and listen to the community. No pay to win, no microtransactions. The only DLC is purely cosmetic and is really just a way for people to support the devs who keep pushing free updates and adding new content, years after release. Such a blast. ROCK AND STONE!!

Easily my favorite building game ever. It's sooo satisfying. Each item has its own 3d texture when on conveyor belts! Gives me all of the serotonins. Anyone who loves playing with the Minecraft mods buildcraft, thermal expansion, ic2, etc will love this game.

One of the best co-op games of all time. Each game you can 'commend' or 'report' players for playing well or not, and groups you with other players with good/bad standing. In other words, it's very rare you get some idiot ruining your game. Players are usually very friendly and it's not toxic at all.

I wanted a game where I could dismember and decapitate enemies to my heart's content. I got exactly what I wished for, and I regret it. After drilling into people's eyes, tossing them into wood chippers, impaling them on meat hooks etc, I'm sick of myself and I'm going to be uninstalling. It brought out a level of sadism in me that disturbed me greatly.

That being said, it's not the dev's fault I couldn't handle it. It's still early access and not much of a full "game" at this point, more of a sandbox serial killer simulator/wave survival shooter, but I'm sure it's going to be fleshed out in the future. If you're looking for awful ways to kill AI enemies, you've come to the right place.

Just be careful because I do actually worry about the psychological effects of gleefully torturing people in VR. It's a wildly different experience between using joysticks and a screen to do it, versus actually grabbing people with your hands and physically holding them under the drill bit.

EDIT:
I never said that the game is gonna make me kill people irl, or that you're a bad person for playing the game, or any of a dozen different things people accused me of saying. I meant exactly what I said above. No more, no less. Disabling comments

Haven't messed with many of the settings, but my god the floor fix is CRUCIAL. Set a controller on the floor, pull the trigger with the other one, and bam. Floor fixed. Easy as that, I have no idea why Steam doesn't just do that from the outset.
Thank you OVR!

I spent hundreds of hours addicted to this game before I realized I wasn't even having fun. Grind, grind, grind. The entire point of this game is mindlessly grinding to the next objective, running the same missions dozens of times. Combat is boring and repetitive. Either combat is boringly easy, or you get oneshot immediately. There is NO in-between. The skill tree is neat, until you realize that if you don't follow an online guide, you'll get screwed late-game. Which kinda defeats the entire point of customizing a character, imo. Microtransactions are insanely expensive, too.

I tried it for two hours. It was insanely complicated and a pain to navigate, and I hated it and uninstalled. End of story, or so I thought. Nope.

Several years later, I went through my steam files for a different game, saw a folder titled "EVE Online." And I'm like "??? I uninstalled this forever ago." Deleted it. Took forever to delete. Went in trash, and saw that it was FOUR GIGABYTES.

FOUR GIGABYTES of crap left on my machine, after I uninstalled it. WTF.
