I'd rather be playing Alien: Isolation.

Edit: People complained, so I added more nuanced discussion of my reasoning in the comments. :)

@Jmunk: Tellingly, most of the Steam reviews have far less time logged than even a casual playthrough of Alien. Even though those folks enjoyed their time with it, they didn't enjoy it enough to play it for more than 10 hours on average (although there do exist outliers). Even you, my dear friend, have only logged a paltry 2.1 hours in the game.

So the question comes down to this: Do I really want to play this game for 30 hours, despite it being cheaper? No -- there simply isn't enough content on offer to render it compelling as compared to titles like Alien.

That said. if you enjoyed it, I'm not going to invalidate your expierience. However, I would invite you to play the game 30 hours and then tell me if you're still enjoying it.

@Jmunk: I can see the argument that a procedurally generated game could, in theory, extend the shelf life of this game for a very long time.

The problem with that argument, though, is imposed by the sheer value provided by Alien: Isolation. It's easily a 30 hour game and that's only if you don't die much. On top of that, Alien boasts much better production values, a better inventory and crafting system, and a well told story. On the other hand, Monstrum tends to generate samey feeling layouts that don't provide a distinct feeling of progression or achievement of any kind from game-to-game or even from area-to-area. This is the same reason I don't play games like Slender: there simply isn't enough variety in the gameplay to warrant paying it much mind.

I respect your opinion, but take a look at my review; I explain how you can't really compare the two games.
