I am objectively recommending the game. I will list some pros, and explain the biggest flaw of this game which makes it tedious to finish for Narrative game enjoyers.

Pros:
- Nice mix between base management, Sim management & survival exploration. There is a nice balance between all and you surprise yourself thinking about your next steps a bit like playing chess
- The RPG progression is satisfying, and upgrades are meaningful. Each tier provides an additional layer to resource collection & Management which is well game designed
- The narrative writing is very human, and the moral choices are constant, where you feel there is no good choices, only choices to make that will change the rest of your playthrough. I surprised myself replaying a few saves behind because I missed a narrative objective which I didn't feel satisfied with the outcome, which is a very healthy way of showing player engagement.
- The areas, the atmosphere and the overall aesthetics are beautifully transcribed to a futuristic space exploration world which makes it sci-fi, borderline fantastic but without playing too much crossing the border.

Biggest flaw of the game: the Voice acting.
As a big narrative game player, when you come across story driven video games, the voice acting is extremely important in the immersion of the main story.
Don't get me wrong, the voice is consistant with each characters and the dialogues make sense, but the gravity of each dialogue is pushed to the most dramatic tones for every topic discussed, from philosophy, science, political, or even sharing his hangover. It makes this constant feeling of weight in each sentence which after 20 hours of gameplay makes you start to skip dialogues after reading the subtitles because of how slow and dramatic each sentence is laid out.
Additionally, there are these long pauses between each line which kinda kills the immersion of the whole story. The biggest drawback is that it disconnects you from the empathy you may have towards each Alters, and it's really, really too bad for such ambitious game.

I'm giving a solid 7.5/10, and recommend for people who want novelty, a solid Sci-fi experience and a challenging base-building single player game with a satisfying progression system. Unfortunately, I wouldn't mind that much on the emotional investment towards the character(s) because of this constant need to make every single line as dramatic as possible.
