I'm going to be the other opinion and say I liked this game more then Sunless Sea.

Its worth noting a few things.
1. The light makes no sense. The map is usually very bright and you can see things like giant plants and the remains of the world beneath you. As a result the headlight doesnt provide illumination it just limits terror.

2. This game is signifigantly easier then Sea. For one it gives you the option to reload the same captain and not do legacy mode, it can even give you auto aiming, extra resource time, and a few other hand holds (Which they made toggleable so there is no complaint about it). In addition the objectives are a bit clearer, with directions and a immediate plot hook being given to you.

3. Your ship goes pretty fast. The fact everyone is hating on this game because their cho cho takes to long are also the same people complaining about the games "Atmosphere" as if a gothic horror games about zooming around the place.

If you want to try the sunless series this is a good place to start.

Shadowrun Returns manages to provide the flavor of the setting while managing to make the scope one would expect of a videogame.

The game starts simple and it unravels into something much bigger and harder to shoot at.

It's certainly worth your money if you like Cyberpunk. Then I'd suggest getting the actual tabletop, which this streamlined.

The fact there is not a feature where you can go back in time and try to run post depression Germany to prevent Hitler's rise to power is a clear miss.

While this game is a very recent one it manages to perform very solidly a Battle Frontier like space gameplay, allowing the game to be somewhat simple in the rules. Despite this teamwork is key if one is to expect to make a dent in my opponents.

My one gripe is the complete lack of setting, I don't even care if there is no story but WHAT IS A CHRONIUM AND WHY ARE THEIR SHIPS ALL DRAGONS?

Have you ever sat in a chair and wondered what it would be like to contribute to the very trade where you derive so much enjoyment from? GDT have put such a option into your hand, by simplifying the workload to simple but important choices (How much world design would be good? Should I sacrafice sound or the graphics for such quality, can one REALLY make a female assasain?) the game manages to allow one to feel the benefits of control without the intense nitty gritty of rpg maker.

My only complaint is the big end games, the console and AAA games are more often then not something not worth trying. As game dev tycoon the abbility to make such a console should ideally be the pinnacle achievement in the game, not simply a pipe dream. Rather then manage to be the greatest company in history, it seems easier to churn out successes in relatively low risk ventures.
