A very excellent story game. I loved the characters, and the story. The voice acting is great, as is the animation. Lots of funny moments.
Gameplay wise it is a puzzle type of game. The Hacking mini game I didn't enjoy, but was mostly successful at. Assigning Supers to alerts was fun thanks to the banter, and there is strategy involved in who to hold back, how to level up your guys and gals.
Get it for the story foremost, game play second.

If you love cell shaded animation this is the best I've ever seen in a game.
If you enjoyed Life is strange True Colours then this game is right up your alley.
If you don't like the Life is Strange games because of the social justice stuff then this game has very little of it. You will be exposed to redemption through hard work as a theme.

The best first person RPG I have ever played!
I loved KCD1, and this sequel brings with it a ton of gameplay improvements. A more expansive world, better animations

I'm enjoying the changes to combat. I've found it easier than KCD1, but not to the point of having no challenge. It's still hard when you start out but the rewards are well worth it. There's nothing like walking all over foes that used to be too much for you.
Pole arms are now standard weapons you can take with you, mounted combat is easier (And a decent option early game), plus we have cross bows and early hand cannons in the game.

The two maps are huge and beautiful. I think I spent 60 hours on the first map alone. The largest city makes Rattay (The big town in KCD1) look tiny. It really makes you feel that you are in medieval Europe in 1403!

Story is excellent and contains some awesome plot twists that I did not see coming.

If you love other RPGs, and especially other 1st Person RPGs* you will love this game.
(*eg: Morrowwind, oblivion, Skyrim, Gothic, etc)

KCD2 is a must have if you loved the first game.

(DLC) I've been enjoying the first two DLC as well. I've yet to try ther 3rd one.

Early Access Review
Update (17/08/2025): The rights holders now have the audacity to try and sell Kerbal merch (youtooz) rather than finish this game. DON NOT buy anything from them until we see an update to this game or refunds!
It goes without saying but DO NOT buy this game! You are not getting any of the stuff that was meant to improve on the first game, the first game is more feature rich and this game is still DEAD.

++++ SCAM - Do not buy! Early Access game scam. ++++
This FULL PRICE game is dead,
Publisher should not be selling it, especially selling it for this price.
Developer shut down by publisher, no updates.
Publisher needs to issue refunds for killing development.
Doesn't deliver promised features.
The first Kerbal Space program is a better game, just get that one.

Deliver the game you charged us full price for!

Still waiting for basic features that are missing from Cities Skylines II that were part of the Cities Skylines base game.
Feels like I paid full price for only half a game, and imho the game is in a much worse place than the first game was at launch.
Would not be surprised if the game was pushed out before it was ready for dumb corporate reasons.
Not only has Colossal order gone from hero to zero with this game launch, Paradox have as well in my eyes.
No way that I'd buy any DLC until the game is fixed (if that ever happens).

No Steam Deck support.
With how crazy expensive GPUs are getting AAA games need to support PC handhelds.

Moving on to the game itself, I had a lot of fun with it but have not felt like going back to it even to play the DLC that I own.
Any parts of the game that were not given a personal touch are barren, and uninteresting.
The main plot doesn't really interest me past a point and I didn't bother finishing it.
The Settlement system feels half baked and unfinished, like they were going to make full sets of buildings for each theme, but after making samples the higher ups called it done.

Recommend getting Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Falllout 4 before even looking at getting Starfield.
They are both far superior games for story, and fun.
I'm very concerned that Elderscrolls VI will be a disappointment if Bethesda don't improve.

[UPDATE: Official servers turned off permanently even though the "remaster" isn't released yet. Don't bother buying this, wait for reviews of the remaster. Note there are reports that hosted servers for the new one are locked to a single provider. Plenty of vids on youtube about that and Snail Games' behaviour, I recommend you watch those before making any purchases]

Official servers getting shut down in August, and latest information is that progress cannot be transferred to the remaster (from public or private servers).
Also we will likely see less or no bug fixes once they release the last content patch.
The remaster was announced as free to existing players but the devs have done a 180 and now will cost US$40!, plus the DLC is not included and will cost US$20 each.
We don't even know if the remaster will be better than this version.
Furthermore ARK 2 is now revealed to have dramatic game play changes none of us asked for or want.

I love ARK and have played a lot. If you do still decide to buy this be aware that playing on official servers is now pointless. You should factor in whether you will need to pay for some hosted servers.

Ark is my favourite survival game, so it's a shame they are determined to ruin it in a transparent cash grab.
Review is negative as new players are not getting the experience I got when I bought it.

imho this is the best of the Life is Strange games.
That includes Life is Strange Double Exposure.
If you are looking to try one of these games this is the best one to start with, story wise it's basically standalone, no need to play the others first.
I enjoyed the tone more than the other games, and enjoyed characters and the world a lot more.
I have replayed it multiple times.

Pros: Graphics are nice and suit the game. Base building is fairly easy, outside of a few things that annoyed me (No way to put hatches on the roof of large rooms). The story was enjoyable, and the vehicles work well. Marine animals are varied.

Cons: It may be too scary for some players, requires time investment (I finished in 68 hours but if you know what you are doing, and spend less time base building then you could finish faster).

While the 3rd person controls and 3D graphics are a departure from Beneath a Steel Sky the story and characters do a good job of grounding Beyond a Steel Sky withing the same world as the original game.

The game engine works well, graphics are nice and crisp and the comic book style works well.
There are some issues at times with close up cameras clipping through objects or obscuring characters, this tends to happen if a character is too close to a wall or other obstruction.

The puzzles are with a couple exceptions straight forward and I found that I was able to work them out without impacting story progression too much.

The characters are nicely animated and there are many funny moments in the game. I found the humour to be very good.

It is worth playing the first game Beneath a Steel Sky as there are some minor spoilers contained in this one.
But if you don't want to play old adventure games you can enjoy this one without missing out on too many funny references to the original.

Recommended to fans of Graphical Adventure games.
I consider this a 3rd person Adventure rather than point and click.
