This game is awesome and the removal of forced PVP for the endgame is the reason I'll put ANOTHER 200+ hours into it.

Other than some rough DLC practices, this is the closest you'll get to a traditional Beatmania experience since Konami refuses to localize classic Bemani stuff on any accessible US platform.

I find this more enjoyable than other VS-clones. I would put this on par with the original VS as far as fun factor. The music is awesome too.

If you liked the first game, you know you will likely enjoy this one as well, but I will say enjoy the journey and not the destination. The game itself is more interesting than the "conclusion."

The absolute best rhythm shooter out there man. Everything looks, feels, and sounds amazing. Top marks to this team and their efforts. This is gonna be a go-to "veg out and play a video-game-ass-video-game" for years to come. Even if metal isn't your genre, you owe it to yourself to at least try out the demo.

Don't let the reviews talking about the game length dissuade you. This game is designed to be played over and over again. Much like you'd listen to your favorite album/playlist over and over again, you do so with these levels and these weapons. This isn't a game to be "beaten," it's a game to be "played."

This is probably my favorite Yakuza game, and one of my favorite jRPGs of all time. I really hope they continue Kasuga's story, or at very least, the jRPG format in future Ryu Ga Gotoku titles.

This is an incredibly emotionally frustrating game.
tl;dr: The game looks great, the game sounds and "feels" great, there's just not a whole lot of "game" here. This is an incredibly polished live-service skeleton, and nothing more.

From a development standpoint it feels like they blew their budget on asset creation and visual design, and skimped/rushed on everything else. There are a handful of mission types that all involve "punch the thing," bosses are bullet sponges with uninteresting mechanics. If you saw the trailer/opening mission and got excited, well, that's about as interesting as the game gets.

The whole thing feels more like a proof-of-concept than an actual game. All the interesting acrobatic quicktime events and interesting boss fights with parries and dodges, etc. that you see in the opening of the game, that's the only time that happens. If you're hoping for Spider-Man PS4 levels of interesting things to do, you're going to be disappointed.

The lack of focus on the (about 6ish hour) single-player campaign is a huge miss. This game should have been baked another year or two and the campaign should have been closer to 20 hours with zero "filler."

The engine and assets they've made her have tons of promise, but aside from a few bright spots here and there, the whole thing just makes you sad for what "could have been."

One of the best jRPGs ever created. One of the best game soundtracks ever recorded. One of the best localizations ever written. Why haven't you played this yet?

This is the high watermark for the genre of both action RPG combat and rogue-lite game design. The amount of passion, care, and effort put into the worldbuilding and story sets an almost unrealistic bar to clear for other developers looking to make games in this genre. This is the absolute pinnacle example of every aspect this game touches.

A once-in-a-generation masterpiece.
