Report a translation problem
It is true that you usually you have to install different tilesets to get non-ASCII graphics like in Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, DoomRL, and Dwarf Fortress (I haven't really played the adventure mode much but it's the first thing that came to my mind), but tilesets are usually free also. There is usually a preinstalled tileset download somewhere out there too.
Tilesets aside, Lost Labrynth comes to mind, since there is a free version of that with a lot of content (although the sound effects are pretty bad).
