you can do whatever you want.
i agree with the previous comment on the player manual on github (when i disagree on the tone).
be a space trucker, or space taxi. or both. bounty hunter or pirate! attack aliens to get their shiny gear, or play the story to help humanity socialize with the powerful extraterrestrials.
