Playing this after Breakpoint and it feels so much better. Graphics and gameplay customization are a bit of a downgrade, but the story, characters and biome variety make up for that in full.

Just play Sekiro, it's easier

Just another 'all style, no substance' VN which is a shame because the art is really good. You could buy it for the sake of making trippy screenshots, I guess.

Q: You clocked in 100+ hrs in a game you don't like, why?
A: Achievements.

The pros:
- Turn-based instead of cancerous RTwP;
- Co-op;
- Good voice acting;
- Decent visuals for cRPG.

Now, the cons:
- Almost non-existent plot with rocky pacing (final part was done in a hurry because devs were running out of money and it shows);
- Extremely forgettable characters;
- Custom character has no content so you're stuck with playing as an Origin character If you don't want to feel like your MC is out of place;
- Balance still sux in some cases, even with all the fixes of Definitive Edition there are still weird difficulty spikes;
- No roleplaying since you are required to go murderhobo because of XP. If your map isn't covered in bodies at the end of each Act you'll in for a bad time because of aforementioned balance issues;
- Awful inventory management;
- On top of that, Diablo loot system which means you have to be buried in your inventory 24/7;
- No sense of progression other than numerical (diablo loot system strikes again) since you're too dependent on your armour, rather than skills;
- Main feature (elemental and other surfaces) goes from nice mechanic to overbearing shtick really fast;
- Despite 'go anywhere' narrative the game is pretty linear since every map is divided into areas with a corresponding level attached to them, so little to none variety in quest order. Playthroughs will be the same (unless you cheese, which isn't my cup of tea).

All in all, subpar experience. Wouldn't recommend unless you desperately need an RPG for co-op.

Solid story, superb voice-acting (it's ridiculous how good it is, especially considering the scope of the game), visuals on point. My only issue with Thronebreaker is its gameplay. Becomes a little daunting in the end because it's easy to build a strong deck pretty early and unless you decide to entertain yourself and switch it for the sake of switching it you'll be tired of doing the same combos over and over. Still, a good game, even better If you have handheld.

Unless Larian 'grace' us with restoring last-minute cut content (that they advertised just weeks before release) such as explorable Upper City, ending variations (i.e. slides) and tadpole use consequences the game will remain incomplete.
