Early Access Review
Got a partial tear in my achilles tendon at the beginning of this month (February 2024). Asked a pal in the medical field for advice, and after I got it situated for recovery, he asked if he could do anything else to help. I told him if he wanted, we could play a video game- I was going to suggest Barony, but he suggested this game.

It's perfect. We both have ADHD, both got experience with first-person shooters and, uh, monster-fighting sims. This game loads surprisingly quickly, has a lot of charm, no serious translation issues, decent consistency-of-play and progression, and a world that's intriguing without being bogged down by forced plot details. Worlds are easy to customize, like if grinding for materials ever gets frustrating, adjustments are as easy as turning up harvesting.

There're bugs, like occasionally clipping through the map in some weird way, but in my experience it's rare and honestly kind of fun to have to climb through walls. There're all sorts of things this game ought to have, like sharing inventories between bases, infinite encumbrance within bases, refunding technology points, better sorting and search features in palboxes- ease-of-use stuff. From the patches we've seen so far, those things are inevitable- this studio seems to actually listen to its community.

A+, would recommend, excellent game, especially if you're frustratingly immobile and playing with a friend over Discord.
