So many bugs.
My co-op partner is stuck in an invitation loop. He receives non-stop invitations from me every time he starts the game. We've tried everything and nothing works. This might me a database issue, or something, i don't know. But as for now, he cannot play his game anymore, as the notification literally appears every 5 seconds.

4 games, 4 bug infested releases. Shame

Short & Spoiler free review:

-The game is literally a reskinned Subnautica 1 with different story and assets, but in a worse way. 100 hours in the first game with 3 complete playthroughs and I could barely drag myself to end this game once. It gets EXTREMELY frustrating as sometimes the story doesn't mention what you need to do, and forces you to explore useless places for several hours. For the main game veterans, this game is a nice addition, but if you wonder what game to start with, just play the first one, hands down.


Longer version /w Spoilers:

-The main story is bad as fck. I literally couldn't care less about who am I playing with, who the hell is Sam, or the weird old lady.
-Navigating on this map is infuriating. The whole idea of "deep dark abyss" from the first game is gone. You get a clusterfck of tangled roots in which you cannot navigate through, you get lost almost instantly and have no where to go. 50% of the game happens ON LAND. Why do you keep calling yourself "subnautica" if you make me go half the time on land? Also, finding these abandoned bases is super difficult. I remember in the first game, to reach the Lava Zone, you could go from ever corner of the map deep down, and still manage to find your way through.
-The sea monsters in this game are... underwhelming. I swim past them while they boop me once or twice for 10hp dmg to my ship, and I just get on with my business. I miss the roars and sights of the great Leviathans from the first game.
-Although this game consists 50% of walking on the ground, HOW THE HELL YOU MANAGED TO SCREW UP WALKING SO BAD? In the first game walking was unproblematic. Here, you get stuck, freeze mid-air, bump into invisible walls. How is this possible?
-Remember whan you could travel the whole map in Subnautica 1 and through sheer exploration and curiosity you woould still find most of the items/facilities needed to progress through the story? Well.. say goodbye to that as you will spend HOURS trying to find certain materials, certain blueprinds and, the cherry on top, good luck finding the end game facility in this game. Took me 1 hour to find it with step-by-step guides and a freaking community-made map. Pathetic.

My problem with the Seatruck:
-the whole idea is cool, but the execution is meh, after playing with Cyclops & Seamoth ships in the first game, they've tried to combine them both in a single piece of machinery. But it sucks. After 5 modules attached, it's unbelievably slow, barely have any space for loot, getting in and out of it is pathetic, Teleportation Module is pretty cool tho. Playing in a "Seamoth style" with only one module attached is fine, but holy fck I get stuck everywhere.

PAWN suit:
-feels a lot better, moves much better and barely gets stuck every 5 min like in the first game, although it's USELESS, you literally don't need it at all in this game. Also you get a freaking "suit thermal reactor" in a climate that barely goes above 10 degrees Celsius. Just saying :)

This game is bad overall. It really tries to be good, but the first Rome TW is much better in terms of mechanics

Extremely fun and addictive. Couldn't turn it off until I've got 46/46 achievements. Looking forward to new updates!

Overall a bad game. Grindy as hell and boring tasks.

This has to be the worst survival game I've ever played in my life. It's like playing Dark Souls and The Forest combined, the difference is the game doesn't help you in any way, it's bugged as hell in co-op, the main story is just plain stupid and it's frustrating in every single way. I've played story mode with a friend on literally the easiest difficulty in the game, no tribesman, no sanity problems and we died on every occasion possible.

If you are looking for a chill survival co-op game to play with friends, look away, there are plenty other options on the market. This game will ruin the fun factor with it's stupid afflictions, bugged watch coordinates, useless map, extreme macro nutrients demanding (for real, they added protein, carbs, fats as basic needs, like i'm playing Mr. Olympia 2022, instead of a basic survival game. "Yeah bro, I just ate a whole ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pig full of protein, lemme search for some bananas to fill my daily carbs requirements, get a creatine drink and hit the shower maybe"

Pros:
-nice graphics
-good in game sounds and environment

Cons:
-extremely difficult
-you have too many "basic needs" to attend non-stop and extremely little time to actually explore and build something.
-smartwatch is bugged
-you die randomly for no reason at all
-no map, super annoying to find something in the game
-10 afflictions in total that hit you randomly and the plants needed to cure them, are nowhere to be found
-the main story is pathetic
-the whole crafting/curing/inventory management is super annoying to use and it takes too much time to do anything at all

I've really tried to give it a fair chance and try as best as I could to understand the game, but it is just a bad game under the pretext of "complicated, complex, challenging" tags. 8 Hours of my life wasted.

Sorry, I just can't recommend this game. Cool story and all, but it's literally a tedious grindy game. I got myself invested in the story at first, but, to unlock more dialogues and further weapons upgrades, you need to beat the same maps, same bosses, dodge the same skillshots, use the same powerups over and over and over again.
Except for the cool story, this game is just a repetitive grind.

11 win streak atm and i'm done.

Forgettable heist. They've designed a big ass map for nothing. Stealth was completed on DS after 5th try. I don't even wanna talk about loud, as it's just shooting endless waves of cops.
The MAIN story is done. No more dentist, no more crazy illuminati boxes, no more conspiracies to be discovered. They are just milking the last bit of their playerbase. Really, really sad.

Buy only if you are a complete degenerate like me with the sole purpose of owning 100% of the DLCs and achievements.
