Like many others, I feel inclined to request for my favorite C&C title RED ALERT 2 to be considered for a REMASTER sometime in the future. PLEASE consider doing this.

As for the C&C1 & RA1 Remasters, I was very pleased with them. Being primarily a Red Alert sub franchise fan, and almost never played any Tiberian game, this remastered kick butt. That's how you do remasters, with love, care and respect to the original. That can only happen when you have the original DEVELOPERS working on it. Unlike many other less than respected remasters out there...

I understand the artistic choice of the devs to stay in 2D so they keep the authenticity of the gameplay, and I am okay with it. I wouldn't mind if Red Alert 2 remasterd (if and when it comes) would keep the same style, although a 3D version of it would also be very welcome as long as it doesn't alienate the gameplay.

I played 64 hours so far and I currently have every achievement except the two hardest difficulty ones, which I don't plan on getting because I respect myself too much for it. Maybe I'll try to beat some missions on hardest but I won't sweat it too much.

As mentioned, I'm not really a Tiberian fan, while I like the Kane trops and the overall storyline, the setting itself is not something I prefer. However, I did play all Tiberian Dawn missions for the sake of the remaster and out of curiosity. They were pretty standard and fine. But I didn't love them.

But I played the F out of the Red Alert ones. I really prefer its setting and missions.

Now let's note a few of the good and bad of this according to my experience.

GOOD:

The ability to switch between HD and classic graphics is great.
The music jukebox works pretty well.
The gameplay is quite true to the original and genuinely fun if you like RTS C&C style, especially if you have nostalgia on the game.
Multiplayer works pretty fine.
The various quality of life improvements like the queued units and various hotkeys
and many more that I can't recall.

BAD:

I respect the attempts to make the cutscenes HD and I understand that even when upscaled, they may still seem a bit low quality.
Pathfinding can be very irritating at times. I'm sure there could be more time devoted to improving and fixing it's problematic nature.
The miners getting stuck very often and requiring you to have more refineries so they won't get stuck can be annoying.
Although having bright base colors for the skirmish/multiplayer players on the HD graphics is an interesting concept, I would prefer a classic color palette that resembles the washed out colors of PS1 Retaliation. That's more of a personal preference.
The hardest difficulty is extremely unbalanced and frustrating. Instead of having AI sending stronger attacks and playing smarter, the health and damage balance is changed against player. Sometimes it feels unbeatable and while it is challenging it's not the fun-type of challenge. I'm not a fan of that choice.

Epilogue:
Overall, great work, thanks for doing this for the community.
I really hope we get a GOOD Red Alert 2 Remaster someday.
Much respect.
