Having played the first installment of the Outlast series, I have to say that Outlast 2 is a whole experience in and of itself compared to the first one. The chases are more intense, the graphics are massively improved, and the music combined with the ambiance makes the game worth buying, in my opinion. This doesn't mean that the game has some flaws, which I'll express now.

1. Barely any hints or no hints at all

The game rarely gives you any hints into what you are doing, which makes the whole game feel like I'm playing "Where's Waldo?" But instead of Waldo, I'm looking for the objective.

2. Flashback chases are sometimes a running simulator
The flashbacks in this game are what really made me play Outlast 2 in the first place, and seeing how poorly some of the demon chases were made honestly disappointed me.

3. Lost or cut content
On March 28th, 2018, Red Barrels released a patch that removed a few chases and enemy spawns (Example: Chase after the Chapel encounter) from the game. I'm not sure why this decision was made, but I think that they should've left these chases intact on Nightmare / Insane difficulties.

Conclusion
Should you buy this game? The answer is yes. Even with the flaws I expressed earlier, Outlast 2 is a phenomenal game and a good sequel to the Outlast series as a whole. I would totally recommend it if you have played the original game before.
