Can't free-aim my hooks. Whyyyy?

The music is fantastic though, and I suppose if you like this style, it's probably a fine game. I didn't really play past finding out I don't get to control my hooks.

Hi Shamango,

I developed the game for 3.5 years with a really high skill platformer players. We tried every single input option.

Main reasons are:
1-) If you watch the game trailer, you will see that game is incredibly fast. You need to shoot many hooks in very short amount of time. Hook, Dash, Jump timings are hard enough, that we did not want the player to focus on aiming too.

2-) Adding mouse input, basically adds a hardware dependency. It would make the game impossible to play on a very basic laptop, basically anywhere you can carry and open it. That's really possible and fun since game is very optimized, runs well even at very weak laptops and I am proud of it.

3-) Aiming is really precise thing, it was slowing down the gameplay a lot. Also, making it optional would break all the level design.

If you spend a bit more time, you'll definitely get used to it. If you need any assistance, we would love to help in our Verified Discord Server: https://discord.gg/naezith

I wrote about these stuff long time ago here: https://www.reddit.com/r/naezith/comments/5slmvx/controls/

Also, a game developer friend of mine made a very similar game named Rifter which has mouse input. Make sure you check that out :) https://steamhost.cn/app/625740

Hope that was helpful, have a nice day!
