I feel conflicted about recommending this game to first time players. For one, the game is an absolute masterpiece. Nearly every area of the game feels carefully curated for an in-depth and rewarding experience, even if you are on your nth playthrough. I never get tired of hearing the famous lines that sent chills through my body and nearly even brought a tear to my eye.

With that said, the only way to go from here is down. That is not to say that the other Souls games, Sekiro, Bloodborne and the like are not good. They are. But Elden Ring is a product of our time just as the aforementioned games were, and as such they were heavily limited by the technology and ideas of the time. While the game may be easy for beginners, it does feel like it shuts you out from the other souls games because none of them hold a candle to Elden Ring (in my opinion).

However, it may be difficult to look past some of the limitations present in other games, but not impossible. When I first booted up Bloodborne, not being able to jump or regenerate flasks hurt a lot. But muscling through the initial adjusting period rewarded me with some of the greatest storytelling and gameplay I have seen to date.

My advice to people looking for somewhere to start? Don't look at Elden Ring as the model. This, in my opinion, is the final product (though Miyazaki would hilariously disagree) and the previous Souls games are lacking in SOME minor areas compared to Elden Ring. Each game is amazing in its own right and deserves to be experienced.

TLDR: Elden Ring good. Others also good. Play Elden Ring. Play others.

(Side note, I am currently in the process of revisiting the other Souls games so my perspective may not be a fresh one)

This game is beyond any other game ive ever played. It has more quests than any other game ive played and each quest seems like its actually worth your time. And all the guns you get from the golden chest are on the same level as the guns you can find making it easy for someone to only play the game without using shift codes
