Awesome game, too bad the servers are all dead and its been de-listed from steam. I really miss this graphical style and "arena" combat.

If you manage to get this game I'd recommend finding some friends to play with too because the public servers are all dead here in 2025

Absolute staple in the FPS genre. Even in 2025 the simplicity and robustness of quake is still enjoyable and surprisingly there are still plenty of servers online. Historically I've always been more of a half-life fan but I still enjoy playing a round or two of classic quake.

I hope this game survives the next 50 years. Given that its open source it probably will.

Very good game. I wasn't sure about it at first but, after becoming more familiar with the systems and getting a few good weapons I like, it’s shaping up to be something very special. Typically, indie soulslike games that aren't made by FromSoftware tend to be lackluster, unpolished, and just generally janky or otherwise "mid" experiences (such as Mortal Shell, Thymesia, etc.). However, Lies of P sets itself apart from the rest of the indie soulslike crowd by actually feeling good to play. I care a lot about things like consistent parrying and "fair" combat and this game hits all the right spots with that. I will say that the parry windows are much smaller than souls games but it’s not too bad and actually reminds me more of Sekiro's parrying style but with Bloodborne's ability to regain recently-lost health. I've only killed a 3-4 of the major bosses so far but the fights have been fun, and each new area is very well designed. The story, art, music, and voice acting are all really well done too. This game is like a weird blend of bloodborne and Sekiro and the prosthetics and detachable weapon blades + handles offer lots of opportunities to customize your build. The leveling process isn't too grindy either.

I think I can confidently recommend this to FromSoft fans and anyone who is still waiting for bloodborne to come to PC, also to hard-core Pinocchio fans (I guess…)

Looks pretty when standing still but I'm astounded by how much motion sickness it gives me. Its very clearly had lots of work put into it but I don't think I'm a fan of the direction the industry is pushing us towards. Everything runs well on my 4070ti Super but I think there's something about the RTX fuzziness that is nauseating me. Maybe I just need to tweak the settings some.

Amazing game despite its age. Still just getting my feet wet but there's a lot of potential here. Intuitive controls and the sound track is amazing.

Good game if you like 40k lore. The actual third-person controls and combat mechanics are satisfying and the game has a pretty good story. I liked how weighty the melee feels and the parrying mechanic is fun once you get used to it. The art and level designs are fantastic. Biggest gripe is probably that limiting the classes to one per operation is unnecessary and makes the game less enjoyable when I can't get one of the classes I actually like. I don't mind limiting to one of each class per team but I don't understand why its limited in the Co-op mode.

Overall its a fun game with a good story, excited to see more missions added to the co-op portion and the PvP balanced a little better. I've had fun with the game so far and I hope it has a long life.

Very fun game. I'm usually a big hater of melee combat in first-person games but this actually feels pretty good. It has a nice blend of melee and shooter combat that feels smooth to transition between and the hordes of enemies are fun to fight. The enemies that randomly stun-grab you without warning are a bit annoying but eventually you learn how to avoid getting caught.

The levels and environments are very well made and look good. The progression is nice and the crafting system makes the tedious task of discarding bad loot less painful (a lesson that many recent looter shooters still haven't learned surprisingly).

The game is great in co-op (haven't tried the new PvP mode yet) and the inclusion of steam workshop support for modding really adds to the longevity and value of the game.

Also the game has a Dwarf

Get it if you enjoy swarm shooters and wading through swamps of hosile rats with your friends

Extremely short. Only around 10 mins or so on my first play-through before I went back to soak it all in and get the achievements.

HOWEVER,

The devs have achieved something quite impressive considering that this was made in unreal engine but looks and feels so much like the source engine. With the exception of a few minor physics related bugs I'm not sure that I would be able to tell that it wasn't a source game if I didn't already know about this project before playing this demo.

The player movements, shooting, gravity gun, everything feels so close to the original game its mind blowing. They even took the time to replicate the UI and loading messages. Its short but this demo is jam packed with a lot of stuff. They have the basic tools and weapons, the gravity gun, sawblade dismemberment and penetration, the zombie and headcrab AI feels like a 1:1 replica, VFX are very good, the weird space distortion/anti-gravity "holes" are a fun idea that have a lot of potential for puzzles, all of the breakable props, decent carrying stacking physics, good lighting, etc.

I think its a little too small to be called a "Vertical slice" but its about the next best thing. It makes me so excited for the final game and has renewed my faith in the devs to see this project through to completion and have it be worth the wait.

Only major complaints/criticisms so far are the fact that the devs seem to have ignored the possibility that the player can choose to walk backwards after the opening sequence with the dark tunnel (weird portal should close after gordon goes through I think) and the fact that the Gnome achievement seems to be bugged. I played through the game multiple times and tried every combination of going through the door while carrying the gnome I could think of without reloading any saves (including just tossing him through the door before entering) but nothing worked.

Other than those minor things this demo was amazing. I think the fuzzy headcrabs make up it though so this gets a 10/10 for me. Hope the final game isn't tooo far away....

Also forgot to mention that the devs took the time to implement custom keybinds for everything that the original game has which is a detail that many devs would have just ignored

This game is a gem sparkling brightly in the massive pile of metroidvanias that have been released over the past several years. The genre is over-saturated and sorely lacking new ideas. While I don't think this game has done anything wildly revolutionary for the genre, I do want to commend it for being enjoyable enough that I didn't get bored of it and lose interest like I have with nearly all of the metroidvania games I've played since CaveStory. This game is concise, not a second longer than it needs to be.

Its fun and cute and has enjoyable bosses. I appreciate that the cat's ability to leave the mech to squeeze through tight areas was a fun mechanic to explore despite not being anything groundbreaking.

Overall I think I recommend this game simply because it manages to be fun and engaging and captured my attention better than nearly every metroidvania I can think of that I've played over the past several years. Give it a shot if you think it looks like fun.

This is a strange and wonderful game, it has a large variety of weapons that all function and handle differently, the FPS movement itself is fluid and consistent (very impressive considering the many indie games that just miss the mark in this regard), there are a ton of fun levels that are thoughtfully designed with many that have unique twists that completely change how you play them. Some examples are: a map that is a giant ice pyramid and you have to strategically kill your opponent while fighting a losing battle to stay on the ice and out of the lava below, a map with tall pillars and nothing but rocket launchers encouraging you to take advantage of rocket jumping, another map composed of narrow hallways where your only weapons are repulsor guns that do knockback but no direct damage, and proximity mines that you must place and forcefully push your enemies into. There are many other examples of this with maps that have moving platforms, monolithic blocks of moving metal that you can ride on but can push you off the map if you slip off the top and down into the alleys they slide through, and so much more.

The aesthetic choices are fiercely creative while also appearing somewhat low-effort since textures are often warped or mapped strangely. However, I think this was intentional and adds a lot to the charm of the game.

I appreciate that this game focuses on dueling but its so good that I'm a bit disappointed that duels are the only way to play since deathmatch could add a lot to the experience.

From what I've seen and played so far, I highly recommend this game. It only just came out yesterday but it deserves some love for what it is. My only complaints are the presence of a few bugs in the netcode where sometimes when starting a new match there is a desync and the other player won't see that the round has ended. When a new one has started they remain trapped in the map from the previous match. This is simple to fix (just quit to the main menu and start the match over) but it is inconvenient.

something that isn't a bug but is a bit of an annoyance is the fact that there isn't a way to specify a private game so if you're trying to get a steam friend to join you will have to repeatedly kick randos until your friend finally loads into the lobby. I feel bad having to kick dozens of people that I never even intended to play with because the game put them in my lobby despite the fact I was inviting a steam friend. It would be nice if there was a toggle to enable/disable matchmaking or make the lobby private.

Overall this game is very good, feels very satisfying, has good movement, is a blast to play with friends, has tons of variety, a very fun UI, excellent audio design, and absolutely deserves the attention of competitive FPS fans. Highly recommend, especially since its also free.
