Just amazing. The story, level design, mechanics, and graphics, just all at the highest point in the Half Life saga. Seems to transcend the idea of game or art. This stands as a monument of the accomplishments of Valve Software. In reviewing it, all these words can only embarrass me, as it is absurd for me to offer an evaluation.

Works perfect on Ubuntu Linux. Lot of RPG here for only a few bucks. Really enjoying it so far!

Works flawlessly on Ubuntu Linux
I am abysmal at the gameplay. Requires some lightning reflexes! I play other twin stick shooters, like Neon Chrome and Defragmented. Others in those forums kept mentioning this game, so I figured that I would give it a shot. Just keep playing these damn levels over and over. If I did not get some cool OGG files in directory, then I might not be as enthusastic with the purchase.

I love these types of thoughtful simulation games. Glad to know these are still being made. Takes me back to yesteryears.
It is not going to be everyone's type of game. You are going to be typing commands, spending time thinking about resources, and taking breaks reading communication logs. It is going to take a quirky sci-fi fan like my friends to appreciate this one. This is a good game for cooling off, after just watching any of the alien franchise films, while considering the nature of interstellar spacetravel.
Works perfectly on Ubuntu Linux 16.04 with radeon mesa drivers.

This review is for Ubuntu Linux. I am on the fence about recommending or not, but the tipping point is the mis-timings that happen during dialogue. Since I am not seeing a lot of complaints in the forum, then I think it must be somewhat specific to my gaming rig here. Even with that, if there was more that I liked about the game, then I would be able to overlook even that serious bug.

So this is a point-and-click game, except you walk to the hot point. This is a dialogue game, but you don't have to say anything. This is a choices matter game, but it is not usually clear what effect your choices had.

This game has two interesting mechanics. As mentioned, the dialogue choices can be avoided, effectively making a fourth dialogue choice, but as mentioned, there were times when the options came up and disappeared before they were applicable. Since some of the puzzles are based on dialogue options, this was real a deal breaker.

The other mechanic was tuning the radio for additional information and for interacting with in-game objects. This is certainly very clever, but not always tons of fun. I did like the additional information, for what it was worth. It was not made clear how a tunable FM radio was also transmitting radio signals, though. I wish they had taken the opportunity to explore some actual electromagnetic science here.

Lastly, the walking back and forth to do things was quite annoying. Yes, the art was very nice, and yes there were often events that happened along the way, but having to serpentine down winding trails and press action buttons to begin slowly climbing rock faces (for what reason?) lost it's fun after the first time through. There are times when you have a loading screen for about 15 seconds, about 5 seconds of moving across the screen, then another loading screen for 15 seconds. When you have to do this over and over, checking a map to make sure you are going the right way, it feels like a chore. And when there is something happening, it is okay, but I walked with Ren from the Comm Tower to the town center and there was no dialogue and no events for the entire trip. It was just fifteen minues of boredom, slowly climbing walls, getting lost down the wrong path in the woods, and that was after tons of dialogue about how it was so important that he would come with me. Why couldn't I have just clicked on the map and arrived immediately? I really grew to hate the transportation, and I would have explored much more of the island, otherwise.

All these complaints said, the characters and the dialogue that exist here are superb. I hope this writer goes on to do many other works. I wish I had seen much more of the characters, and I regretted every time that I felt compelled to interrupt the character conversation, because I wanted to learn more about them. The writer did a good job hinting at interesting backstories, that made me wanting to learn more. Wish I heard more about Nona. Also, the character animations did a lot to give them character depth, too.

But would I play the game again to see a different ending? No chance. Wish someone had gone through with some polish at the end, because it was very close to being a much better experience.

Works flawlessly on Ubuntu Linux.
Point and click adventure game, in the spirit of Sam and Max. Some very funny and surprising moments.
So far, nothing too crass about the toilet humor. Not too difficult puzzles. Wholeheartly recommended.
Update: just finished chapter two, and feeling this is the best point and click that I have ever played... really connect with this humor, the clue system is awesome, and the story is actually interesting! Two thumbs way up.
Update: just finished the game... very funny and interesting all the way to the lengthy end... uncommon for point-and-click games... really appreciated this game! lot of content and humor.

Top down, twin-stick shooter with a lot going for it. The gameplay is fun with all the different types of weapons. Once you get into the groove of playing, you go through levels fast as a laser. That said, it does start to feel real repeatitive, after a while. There are sometimes boss mosters that are so far fun, and that keeps things feeling fresh. Lots of unlockable guns and skills that will keep you playing, just to see how much more powerful you can get (not that it's needed). I wouldn't say this is a cyberpunk theme, because the story is pretty light. It is kind of fun story, but gameplay doesn't feel like a techno-distopia, except that certain hacker-named characters can open pink loot chests. Just make sure that you watch the gameplay video before purchasing, because you will be grinding through a lot of the same types of levels. Make sure you will enjoy it!
(Update) Neon Chrome has become one of my most favorite games. There is something so fun raiding the levels, revisiting the same enemies, and slowly building up my stats. Even after playing through these levels dozens of times, I am still finding new approaches, even new secrets. I enjoy visiting the tyranical world of the Overseer, and each time I challenge the bosses, I have fun. It is the right level of challenge for me, and I really appreciate it more on every play.

On Ubuntu Linux with radeon mesa drivers, the game runs unbearably slow. But, with a computer with Intel drivers, it ran fine. Additionally, there are other linux gamers with specific crash complaints, in the forum, that have gone unaddressed. Hope the developer will make some corrections.

Big, big negative here. Lowest possible score. Gamepad not working on linux is a known issue, there's a keyboard mapping issue, no way to remap controls, and a discussion forum with lots of questions and no answers. Developer seems to have given up supporting this game. Then there's the music that cannot be turned off, and the inconsistent game physics. My time here at sea was all frustrating and short. Left it running for the trading cards. Even for puzzle platformer fans, I cannot recommend Airscape.
