Code of Law (version A)

Description
Please visit http://www.megabearsfan.net/post/2012/10/15/Civ-V-Code-of-Law-Mod-update.aspx for a full description and to leave feedback!

This mod makes several small changes to the Classical Era technology tree. First and foremost, a new technology, 'Code of Law', has been addedbetween 'Writing' and 'Civil Service'. This new technology allows the construction of the Courthouse building (function unchanged in this version) and the Open Borders treaty. The location of 'Philosophy' and 'Drama and Poetry' have been swapped on the tech tree, and the 'Calendar' prereq that used to go to 'Philosophy' has been moved to 'Drama and Poetry'. 'Civil Service' now required 'Code of Law' instead of 'Drama and Poetry'.

This mod has three main purposes:
1.) Fill in the Classical Era a little bit more.
2.) Make it so that players do not gain access to city-capturing seige weapons at the same time they gain access to Courthouses.
3.) Allow Open Borders a little sooner.

The Gods & Kings exp did a good job of eliminating the "Great Library to Civil Service" exploit, so this mod no longer functions to balance that out.

@Turbotowns: it should work with other mods for Civ V vanilla and G&K expansion, so long as they do not alter the ancient and classical techs that are affected by this mod, or the Courthouse building, or the Open Borders treaty. If I recall, BNW completely reworked the tech tree, so this mod may not work in that expansion.

Is the tech tree effected as a whole, or could we use this with mods that effect other eras not not the classical era?

@MegaBearsFan

Could you possibly make a mod that continues the tech tree. yah know like teleportaion technology. inter-plantetary spacetravel holographic technology yah know stuff like that instead of just reserching Future tech over and over.

Thanks. If anybody else is having problems with the mod, please let me know. The more info I have about unexpected behavior, the easier it will be for me to fix it.

If you're playing with vanilla Civ V, please be sure to comment on this page (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=103461796) instead.

i'll try it alone when i'll finished my actual game. i'd test it alone last time when i saw it didn't work and it was the same. If it's not working again, i'll do some tests and i tell you what's happening.

Mestif, I'm not sure what the problem is. Whenever I load it up, it seems to work fine. I updated it again, so give it a try and see if it's working now. Are you playing with any other mods enabled?

crick1952: I've been playing around with that very idea! I'm hoping to creat a "version B" at some point that does just that.

Could you allow non-occupied cities to build Courthouses as well? Perhaps with just a happiness boost.

I can activate the mod but it's just not doing anything.

Mestiff, what exactly is the problem that you are having? Are you able to revert to the older version?
Mestiff 15 Apr, 2013 @ 9:32am
Since your last mod update, it doesn't work anymore for me.
