It's quite impractical to make a wall on top of some floating islands which is why most scholars believe that these walls were built before the world drifted apart. Whoever discovered these walls later on must have added guns and drawbridges, turning it into a small fort. Now, this ruin is nothing more than shelter for smugglers and the occasional weary traveller.
