Voyager Class Explorer/Cruiser

Designed in 2101, the first ship of its class, Voyager, was launched in 2105, and heralded a new era for Starfleet, one of exploration instaed of constant warfare against the Pirates fleet. However, in order to be issued, the military demanded a modified version in order to see its viability, and thus the Intrepid, her sister ship, was built first, and to Starfleet specs. The Voyager class soon became widespread throughout both the scientific and military fleets, replacing both aged conversions of civilian ships, and finally removing the old B class, and the relatively newer ships in Starfleet, since the Intrepid class was a better ship overall.
