Description
Cookie's improvements and fixes to the True Start Location Giant Map by Gedemon. I have been tweaking with the Giant Map for over 10 years now. This is a collection of files within Gedemon's TSL mod that I think personally would improve the gameplay experience.

INSTRUCTION:
A) Subscribe and download all relevant mods including this one.

B) Load up game and go to Mods section and mods will download. Exit game.

C) Go to \MODS. Copy and paste files from my folder to the right places in Ynaemp folder:
Earth_Giant_blank.Civ5Map - put this in \MODS\Yet (not) Another Earth Maps Pack
Put the xml files in Yet (not) Another Earth Maps Pack\XML
YnaemDefines.lua - put this in Yet (not) Another Earth Maps Pack\LUA

D) Run game again. Go to Mods section. Check 2 boxes YnAEMP mod (v.22) and BNW city states (v.1) (Do not check the box for this "mod"). Also check boxes to use whatever extra leaders DLL you want (28, 34, 43). Go to Custom Game and PLAY!!

***NOTE: If you are playing with Vox Populi mod (or with Gaia/Sapiens), do not use the BNW city states (v.1) and the extra leaders DLL. Also do not check the boxes that deal with resource placement because the game will crash. All the resources do spawn properly except Coral/Rice/Maize (from VP mod) for some reason and I am trying to figure that out...

30-Oct-24 update:
-fix to South Africa, Southeast Asia, Australia, Hawaii, Pacific Northwest, British Isles, North Sea, and Siberia
-fix to islands in Atlantic and Indian Oceans
-rebalance percentage of Hill/Forest/Flat terrains so more Cattle and Bison resources show up
-add in some famous salt lakes around the world
-make geography easier for Huns and Mongols to invade Eastern Europe and Middle East
-fix Sichuan basin and Irrawaddy basin
-minor changes to Asia and America geographies in case someone wants to build a historical Silk Road network or the modern Pan-American highway
-add Tundra areas to Greenland so European countries can hop to North America for colonization easier

22-Jan-24 update:
-2 minor civ start position files - one for without Unique City States modmod of Vox Populi mod, the other is with UCS.
-fix Desert areas and Grassland/Plains distribution so more Cattle and Bison resources show up. Minor fixes to Western North America and Middle East.
-minor changes to the map for more equitable starting capital position for all 43 civs.

16-Apr-22 update:
-Make deserts harsher, only Arabian Peninsula has a lot of Oasis tiles for Arabia to take advantage of. Other deserts now have very few Oasis tiles.
-Fix Tundra tiles in the Northern hemisphere to have no trees near Snow tiles up north. This is to represent the true Tundra biome. Tundra + Forest is actually Boreal biome.
-Isolate Australia and New Zealand from Southeast Asia to prevent Siam and Indonesia to dominate Australia before the Renaissance/Astronomy that allow ocean travel. Also make Australia more inhospitable (more Desert tiles, fewer rivers) to discourage early/mid game AI settlement.
-Add 2 new CSs TSL (Taipei and Oc Eo) to support the Vox Populi modmod - Unique City State.
-Fix Central Asia so that there are more flat tiles for Mongolia and Huns to use their cavalry units more effectively.

15-Jan-22 update:
-City States file now have TSL positions for the new CS's in the Unique City States modmod for Vox Populi mod.
-Make almost all the coastlines neater.
-Fix North and South poles Coast and Ocean tiles distribution, ensure aesthetics and not allow civs in Americas and Old World to meet until discovery of Astronomy.
-improve on resources distribution and restriction in specific geographic areas to represent their uniqueness. ie: No Elephants in Europe, Far East Asia & India subcontinent have Silk, only Bisons in North America .etc.

this is edited version of the original Giant Map. You have to copy and paste over.

bruh i've done every instructions and yet when i try to play. It is still same YnaeMP map not the cookie version.

@JP what do you mean "new game"? Are you using the custom map option? If you use 43 civ DLL the max city states you will ever get is 63-43 = 20.

Also yes the CS that get loaded are random but they should be at their True Start Locations. There are more # of CS than 41.

Has anyone managed to fix the issue of City States in game being random (the number and which CS)

Regardless of who I select as the player list (max 20), if I start the new game again and again it's always a random number of CS that gets loaded (Note: Max I set it to is 41).

This is TSL settings.

did you turn off the resource placement options in the custom map?

tough, I can even configure the map and all that but when I press start game, it loads for a moment, the background music flickers out and then it immediately crashes to desktop

have spent the last hour turning off any mod in the collection that could be bad (extra civs, resources, city states etc) and still it doesn't work

Sapiens mod should work with this and YNAEMP just like with VP. I would not use the DLL mods from YNAEMP because Gaia/Sapiens has their own DLL.
