A collegiate All American at Oklahoma University at both football and wrestling, Steve Williams brought an athletic pedigree to the table when he took up professional wrestling. Dr. Death was an instrumental member of the Varsity Club in the NWA, and formed the Miracle Violence Connection with Terry Gordy in All Japan.

Williams may very well have been one of the strongest wrestlers in his time, or in any. He could walk around with heavyweights in the military press position, reguarly ran across the ring with them for his signature Oklahoma Stampede and had the single most cringe inducing backdrop suplex of anyone.
