Compact Metro Station

Description
A 1x1 underground metro station with its model based on the vanilla one.
Compared to the vanilla 2x2 station, it's 5% cheaper in construction and maintenance costs, produces half the noise accumulation, produces 25% less garbage and employs 3 less workers.

Prefab stats:
  • UI category: Transport-Metro
  • Construction cost/Maintenance: €14250/1425 (€228/week)
  • Electricity consumed: 30 (480 KW)
  • Water consumed/Sewage produced: 10 (160 m3/week)
  • Garbage produced: 6
  • Fire Hazard/Tolerance: 0/20
  • Jobs (Uneducated/Educated/Well Educated/Highly Educated) : 7/12/2/0
  • Noise Accumulation/Radius: 25/50
  • Milestone: Technically always available, but requires Milestone 6 (Big Town) to be accessed without mods.

Model stats:
  • Main model tris: 758
    256x128 texture.
  • LOD tris: 30
    32x32 texture.

Other notes:
  • I haven't tested it with Metro Overhaul Mod, but since it's based on the same template, it should work without any major problems.
  • I know that there's many better looking 1x1 stations on the Workshop already, but I still wanted a station that shares the same aesthetic.
  • LUTs used in the screenshots are 'Colorful Summer Day' and 'Rain Day', both by CreativeDEX.
  • Update 04/25/2020: The railings and sign at the entrance now have a faint custom colormap, so you can use the Painter mod to paint it the same as your main metro line :)

@SavingPrivateBryan It's a weird side effect of the invisible connector path used in the asset. IIRC it can happen with the vanilla metro station too, as it has a similar configuration.

When pedestrians exit I noticed they walk into the street before going back to the sidewalk. Is that just a side-effect of the station being smaller?

I like and use your station everytime i've built a metro system. Can you think about making that station with more platforms (you know, for two different metro lines), maybe one with same direction and some random idk. I'd be nice if you have considered that.

Finally updated this one! I had some PSU issues so that's why it took me longer than expected. That issue's solved now, btw :)
One word of caution: The game may throw some asset errors with this update, but other than that it shouldn't break anybody's cities with this station built. I still recommend rebuilding every instance tho, since they may retain their previous short station length.

@M-ito I'm happy to see your message. I already subscribe and will happily wait now for your update. The station still works with the new update, it's just a bit short for the new metro trains is all. No biggie, but nice if it fitted.

Just a forewarning: The newest free update changed the length of all vanilla subway stations, but this one and probably many others on the workshop still have the original short station length. I've planned to update this but didn't start it yet (working on something else). This shoudn't break it, but keep that in mind before running multiple metro lines trough this station :)

@jimwebb2 Theoretically it should be possible. I don't remember if the underground pedestrian connector that this asset uses still directly interfaces with underground paths, as that functionality was broken in one of the game updates, no clue if that was fixed. Another way would be to hide a steep segment of pedestrian path within, something like REV0's pedestrian elevators, but that would require an anarchy mod to place at all, otherwise the game will throw a 'segment too short' or 'slope too steep' warning.
In any case, feel free to clone this asset if you need to make any changes. Just remember to use BloodyPenguin's 'More Network Stuff' and 'Advanced Buildings Editor' mods to be able to edit the pedestrian connectors :)

Very helpful. Makes me wonder if the same 1-cell surface stairway could be used as access to underground pedestrian walkways instead of metro platforms. Could it lead to an underground pedestrian node? I looked into 3-D modelling recently using Blender and will try to develop, but currently have zero skills myself.

Great Idea...Uses less space and is CHEAPER, too!
Do keep up the great work - Thx
