Description
Beam weapons. Perfect for stripping off shields or slicing enemy ships cleanly, or reliable instant-hit weaponry

Now with sound!
(Re-)Enabled beams! They work now, but they're still eyecancer. Sorry.


Ion Cannons: (Both large and small, all colors)
Thruster damage-based beam weapons.
Effective range: 650 meters (700m on large-ship)
Power consumption: 4MW at full range.
Damage: 5 damage per thruster-damage tick (About 5 seconds to break a heavy armor block)

Long-range Ion Cannon: (Large-Ship ONLY!)
Range: ~2000 meters
Damage: 0.5x of a standard ion cannon
Power consumption: 20MW at full range.

Short-range Ion Cannon (Cutting Torches): (Both large and small)
Range: 50m
Damage: 5x of standard ion cannon
Power consumption: 0.5MW at full range

Known Issues:
- Still graphical glare.
- Strangeness when fired near/through a voxel.

To do:
- Custom beam textures that don't flicker or shoot out the back of the cannon. Need volunteer texturers!
- Further balancing. PLEASE GIVE FEEDBACK BELOW!

- Verify DX11 compatibility Works!
- Balancing, first pass! Balanced? Need feedback.
- Long and short range beams, and balancing them. Balanced? Need feedback.
