Era - 1980s / 1990s - AJPW / SWS / WAR / NJPW

Genichiro Tenryu was a pivotal figure in Japanese pro wrestling, bridging the east and the west with his many trips to the United States in the 80s, founding multiple, albeit short lived organizations of his own. One of the few wrestlers in history to win the AJPW Triple Crown and the New Japan IWGP Heavyweight title, as well as having victories over both Giant Baba and Antonio Inoki.

Few could match Tenryu's knife edge chops, or his heavy handed jabs, and his sumo background gave him the lasting power to deliver strong lariats and powerbombs for finishing matches.
