Era - 1970s / 1980s - WWF / AWA

The first WWF Intercontinental champion, Pat Patterson also had a long run teaming with Ray Stevens as the Blond Bombers. A rough and tumble brawler, Patterson's 1981 Alley Fight in Madison Square Garden with Sgt. Slaughter is considered one of the best matches of its kind. As the 80s progressed, Patterson transitioned to a backstage role where he became instrumental to the WWF's operations.
