Once a mere serial killer mutant in the underbelly of Russia, Arkady Rossovich would become who he's now known as, Omega Red, when the Soviet government implanted retractable carbonadium tentacles in both of his arms, as part of their own variant of the Weapon X project. Time and again, Omega Red has proven to add on to the list of formidable foes the X-Men have had to square off with.

Still in desperate pursuit of the Carbonadium Synthesizer, a device made to stabilize his deteriorating condition, Omega Red gets wind of a mass tournament gathering of mutants called Fire Pro, and enters the fray himself believing Wolverine to be there. He has no time to waste and no patience to spare, for the sooner he finds Wolverine, the sooner he finds the Synthesizer.
